Regarded as a civilian weapon, the rapier was a common accessory for the well-dressed gentleman, carried for over two centuries in various forms. In fact, you would feel *undressed* without one. The blade length typically averaged three feet, but during Queen Elizabeth’s reign, the length was restricted to no more than three feet to curb the growing competition amongst courtiers. The rapier became more than just a fashion accessory as specialized Schools of Fencing emerged across Europe, teaching the art of thrusting and point-based combat. Though its blade was thin and light, making it unsuitable for cutting, the rapier became deadly in the hands of a skilled fencer.

Designed by Bruce Brookhart, this Ambidextrous Rapier is symmetric in shape, allowing for use with either hand, perfect for both left-handed and right-handed individuals. The rapier is complemented by a high-quality, heavy, stiff black leather scabbard with a steel throat and tip for durability and protection.
