• Designed by Ozetta (Hailey Smedley), this fabulous design for Manchelopi yarn is a warm but lightweight classic shirt-jacket with generous pockets.
  
  Worked from the top down, it features dropped shoulders and back shaping with minimal details at the shoulders for a classic shape. It is finished with a fold-over collar and a clever curved hem created by short rows. This oversized woollen shirt-jacket, designed to be worn almost any day of the year.
  
  Your kit includes:
  
  • Manchelopi yarn: 4 (4) 5 (5) 6 (6) 7 (7) 8 wheels (shown in Natural Light Grey)
  
  Note: Manchelopis comes double-stranded in one plate. They are knit as presented for this pattern, i.e. use both strands together from one cake.
  
  • PDF pattern (delivered by email via Ravelry. Please include your Ravelry user name in the notes with your order if you'd like us to add to your Rav library. Ravelry account not necessary.)

  You will also need:
  • Circular needles: 6 mm (US Size 10) 16” and 32-40”, or the required needles to obtain gauge
  • Circular needles: 5 mm (US Size 8) 16”, or two sizes down from main needles
  • Four buttons, approx 1” or 23 mm diameter/width
  • 6 removable stitch markers, tapestry needle, row counter (optional), thread for attaching buttons, spare plied yarn for sewing pockets

  The Miles Shirt-Jacket has around 11-12” 28-30 cm of positive ease built into the pattern. Sizes XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL) 3XL (4XL) 5XL correspond to a bust circumference of 32 (34) 36 (40) 45 (49) 53 (56) 60” or 81 (86) 91 (102) 114 (124) 135 (142) 152cm.
  
  Finished size of garment will be an additional 11-12” (28-30 cm). This means that if you measure a 34” (86cm) bust you will make size (S) with a finished bust circumference of 45½“ (116 cm). Model in pics is 5’ 2” (157cm) tall wearing size (S) with approx. 11” 28 cm positive ease.

  15 sts and 24 rows = 4 x 4” (10 x 10cm) in stockinette st, both flat and in the round on larger needles, blocked.

  Wooldreamers was created by the 4th Generation of our Family Mill where the family work with every stage of wool: from the sheep to the yarn.
  
  The Wooldreamers project aims to be part of the solution to the critical problem of Spanish wool being undervalued, and in some cases treated as waste 

  due to global market conditions.
  
  

  Nowadays, our family mill covers all stages of Spanish wool production, right from shearing the sheep to spinning the yarn under the same roof. This means we are the only ones treating the wool from the very beginning. So we can guarantee the quality of yarn, with minimum carbon emissions AND we can guarantee the traceability of our yarn from the sheep to your hands.

  
  

  
  

  We have been working very closely with local Spanish farmers on the adoption of preferable techniques and sharing knowledge in order to produce the very best yarn, always focusing on animal welfare. 

  
  

  After many years of prep we launched our first collections, starting with Dehesa de Barrera - 100% Spanish Merino Wool Yarn with full traceability (coming to Tribe soon!)
  
  

  Our second collection was Manchelopi: A unique and soft unspun yarn made with Manchega Wool. The white and black wool comes from 2 different flocks near our hometown. This yarn is so different and light. Everyone who tries it falls in love with it.

   

   

  And last but not least, we would like to share something that we are very committed to. In the planning of each collection, we collaborate with people with disabilities at risk of social exclusion. People who deserve to be rewarded for the great work they do. They help us with the labelling and braiding of our skeins.

  
  

  So, to sum up, we are a project that pays special attention to sustainability, helping farmers to continue caring for their flocks, supporting local wool, and showing solidarity with our vulnerable community.
