This compact, refillable fire starter is well suited in any backpack, survival kit or key chain. In addition to the anodized lightweight T6061 billet casing, this capsule lighter stands apart with the knurled finish for better grip when wet, weather resistance, extra spare parts, and comes packed in a reusable survival tin. With an overall size of 1.875” X 0.625”, this rugged, small yet capable fire starter can easily be a part of any user’s essential EDC, especially for those who enjoy time in the wilderness and backcountry.
A small, pocketable, personal fire starter or lighter, that uses lighter fluid, ignited by a wheel, flint and wick has been a staple part of an individual’s field kit since the ones issued or privately purchased since WWI. Most anyone understands the fundamental importance of starting a fire when in the field and in a wilderness survival scenario. While we are also strong proponents of being proficient in starting fires with other methods and/or tools such as the ferro rod to drill bow, having an easily accessible, reliable and durable lighter is indispensable and much more expedient in starting a life saving fire. There’s a good array of capsule lighters on the market, but PDW saw an opportunity to create one precision made with one of the lightest metals available, enduring quality, and at a value.

Installed these Auxbeam amber LED pods on my F-150 and I’m very impressed. The amber color is true yellow and cuts through fog, rain, and dust much better than white light. The beam pattern is wide and low, perfect for fog light use without blinding other drivers. Build quality feels solid — heavy aluminum housing, strong brackets, and clean wiring. They look aggressive but still functional. For the price, these are hard to beat. Bright, durable, and exactly what I was looking for. Would definitely recommend.

Update; Wed. April 22nd, auxbeam saw my review and reached out to me immediately and are sending me a new set of lights hands down. No questions asked. That's great customer service! I will install those on my 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited. Thanks Auxbeam! I ordered these lights October 12th 2025 and installed them on my 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. It was nice because there were holes already provided on the Jeep for aftermarket fog lights. Today, April 15th 2026 I removed them from my Jeep to put them on my 1988 Mazda b2200 pickup truck. First let me say that these are built solid and they put off some really good light. Just be sure that you mount them pointing downwards so they don't blind oncoming traffic or you will get a lot of people flashing their brights at you. I knocked a couple stars off because after I remove them I noticed one of them has moisture in it and these are supposed to be a sealed unit. I'm not going to warranty it. I'm just going to take it apart and reseal it myself so I know that it's done properly. The only other issue I have with these lights is the switch that goes inside to turn them off and on has a red light that stays on all the time and can be a battery drain. It's also very bright and distracting depending on where you locate it? This is my third set of auxbeam lights and I am pleased with the quality of the lights, but I do believe the manufacturer needs to pay a little more attention at the assembly line. It's all about quality control guys.

Bright, cheap, worth it!

I use these as ditch lights and im impressed. Mainly by the brightness and the color of the light which is like super white. These have saved me from colliding with deer at night multiple times now. They came with the wire harness which was great. The harness was a little long for the vehicle they are on but thats fine. I just tuck the extra into a crevice on either side of the fenders and perfect. The switch has been a point of annoyance with me for a while now though. The adheasive is not very sticky. Even on a thoroughly cleaned surface, it still sometimes falls off. I have since fixed the issue with a new strip of 3m adheasive. Oh also, I got these when they were on sale for around 65 dollars. Which I now see as an absolute bargain. They've lasted me so far a year. Not of daily use but still. Cool lights. Would buy again. Photo is with low beams on and these pods.
