Crafted from premium stainless steel, this Stainless Steel Diamond Leather Stitching Punch effortlessly punches clean, uniform hand leather stitching holes, enhancing both the functionality and the aesthetic appeal of your leather creations.
The leather stitching punch is available in 10, 9, 8, 4 and 2 prong sizes and in 2.5mm, 3mm or 3.5mm prong (leather hand stitch hole) length - sold separately.
These punches are recommended for lighter use on leather up to 2.5 mm thick. Should you require a heavier duty punch please see our leather punches by Sinabroks and diamond stitching punches by KS Blade.
Product Measurements:
The 2.5 mm punch produces a 2.5 mm wide stitching hole. Holes have a 0.3 mm spacing in between and the punch produces 8.5 stitches per inch. The prong length measures 9 mm.
The 3 mm punch produces a 3 mm wide stitching hole. Holes have a 0.5 mm spacing in between and the punch produces 7.5 stitches per inch. The prong length measures 9 mm.
The 3.5 mm punch produces a 3.5 mm wide stitching hole. Holes have a 1 mm spacing in between and the punch produces 7 stitches per inch. The prong length measures 9 mm.
What are Diamond Chisels?
Diamond chisels are specialised leatherworking tools with angled, diamond-shaped prongs that punch through leather to create evenly spaced, angled holes for saddle stitching, a strong and traditional hand-sewing technique. Their unique design mimics the traditional slant of hand stitching, providing a clean, professional, and durable finish for projects like belts, wallets, and bags. By punching holes through all layers of leather, they facilitate precise hand-stitching with a harness needle and nylon thread.
How to use stitching punches:
The leather stitching punch should be punched firmly with a heavy mallet onto a stable and firm surface. We recommend using these with our heavy leather mallet and leather punching mat.
