True to their origins as a nebulaic reconstruction of the band Opal - formed of the loose syndicate known as the Paisley Underground, a consortium of post-psych-everything LA bands in the 90s - we hear former opalescent guitarist team up with now vaunted singer Hope Sandoval for a simpler blues-gaze bill-topper, with tracks like 'Ride It On' and 'Give You My Lovin' proving that they'd perfected the formula long before 'Fade Into You'.
