Compatibility & Fitment
This heating element kit is the primary heat source for many modern Speed Queen and Alliance Laundry Systems dryers. Key compatible models include:
- Speed Queen ADE Series: Fits ADE3LRGS171TW01, ADE3SRGS175TW01, ADE3SRGS173TW01, ADE4BRGS176TW01, and ADE9RYS177TW01.
- Speed Queen Mechanical & Electronic: Compatible with various LDEM, LDE, and ADEM series front-control and rear-control dryers.
- Huebsch & Alliance: Direct fit for dozens of commercial-grade residential units produced by Alliance Laundry Systems.
- Note: This is a 240-Volt Electric heating element. It is not compatible with gas dryers. It is typically located behind the Back Panel of the dryer cabinet.
When to Replace
- Dryer Runs but No Heat: The most common symptom; the heating coil has developed a "break" or the thermal fuse has blown, preventing the air from warming up.
- Dryer Takes Multiple Cycles: If the coil is partially shorted or damaged, it may not reach full wattage, significantly extending drying times.
- Dryer Won't Start: On many Speed Queen models, a blown thermal fuse (included in this kit) will prevent the motor from even turning on as a safety precaution.
- Visible Coil Break: Upon inspection of the heater box, you can see a physical gap or "melted" section in the spiral heating wire.
- Continuity Failure: Testing with a multimeter shows "Open" (no continuity) across the two main terminals of the heating element or the thermal fuse.
Installation Tips
- Safety First:Β You MUST unplug the dryer or turn off the 240V double-pole circuit breaker. High-voltage electricity is present at the heater terminals.
- Vacuum the Heater Box: Before installing the new 503978, use a vacuum to remove all lint from the internal ducting. Lint buildup is the #1 cause of heating element and thermal fuse failure.
- Clean the Vents:Β If your heating element failed, your house vent is likely clogged. Check the exterior vent hood and the entire duct run to ensure maximum airflow, or your new element may burn out quickly.
- Terminal Inspection: Check the female wire connectors on your dryer's harness. If they look burnt or loose, they must be cut off and replaced with high-temperature terminals to prevent arcing.
- Handle with Care: Do not stretch or compress the new coils during installation. Ensure the coil is not touching the metal housing at any point, as this will cause an immediate short circuit.

Drying formula and smell bad
Smell so bad and made my hands dry instead of moisturizing. The formula is watery. Maybe itβs fake or expired I am not sure.

Great For Dog Park Fun -- The Ball Goes Flying

I love this thing. It's super well made and It enables me to chuck a ball the entire length of the dog park (I'm a 65 yr old woman with a wimpy arm). My dog is thrilled too. At first I thought it might be too heavy, but that's just not an issue, the weight is fine. For non-throwers like me someone at the dog park gave me a tip --- just look at the area you want to throw the ball. Helped my aim immensely.
The 2.5 inch chuck it ball it comes with is my dog's absolute *favorite* . . . it's her security blanket in the kennel while driving, and it's her favorite ball to chase (the only one she'll actually bring back). She loves to chew it and to squish the air out of it, which takes a little effort.

Great tool!

Ok - so I do not have a dog!!! I purchased this item for a completely different purpose! I saw someone using this to gather eggs!! I often go to my daughter and son-in-law's homestead to carry out the chores when they need to be out of town! Well, I am a bit on the short side (4'11") and some of the hens KNOW that a short person is going to be gathering eggs!!! I simply could not reach all of the eggs in a couple of the nesting boxes! So, after seeing someone else use this ball launcher as an egg retriever, I bought one! I am now able to reach ALL of the eggs - one at a time with no breakage! It was a game changer for me.
I am sure that it works equally well for dog play!!!

Essential kit for those with fetch dogs
Size: 18in, Style: Sport
Now in our 3rd year, my Brittany and I are down to about 40 fetch tosses a day, some 14,600 tosses a year. The Chuck It launcher wears well, so, figure at least 5 years of use, for 73,000 tosses. That makes for a terrific value!
There are several key benefits of the Chuck It launchers: One is that you can chuck the ball further than you can throw, which allows you to exercise your dog more easily. The second is that you can pick up and launch the ball without touching it, which means NO slime! And, the Chuck It also gives extra reach when you have to retrieve a ball from sticker brambles.
Those are great features for anyone with a fetch dog. If you also happen to have a weak arm or shoulder, the Chuck It launchers provide nice throwing options. I generally throw underhanded. I can't get the full potential range, that way, but, I still get good, long tosses. I curl my second finger above the last bump on the handle, and use a good wrist flick along with arm swing. I've seen others throw side-arm with the Chuck It.
I had originally written a second review for the longer 25M Chuck It. Either I, or Amazon messed up, and it looks like I can have only this one review. So, here are my additional thoughts on the 25M: I bought the 25M so that I could throw the ball even further! The good news is, you really can chuck further, with the longer chucker. The bad news is, those longer throws do require more arm and shoulder strength than when using the 18M. This becomes more obvious when you've done 3 or 4 dozen throws. I would recommend the 25M only for those with the youth and/or strength to get the most out of it. Otherwise, I'd say, go with the 18M.
