It has an overall light golden tone to the wood with a fine, even grain texture. There is beautiful zone spalting that changes the wood tone to a darker shade of brown in the spalted zones. Silver Maple Block SM-243 1.6" x 1.6" x 14.9" 0.8 lbs. This is an attractive, moderately-spalted spindle of Texas-grown Silver Maple. It has an overall light golden tone to the wood with a fine, even grain texture. There is beautiful zone spalting that changes the wood tone to a darker shade of brown in the spalted zones. There is visible black-line spalting on several of the exposed faces. The grain runs long and more-or-less straight, parallel to the long axis of the spindle. This wood has been fully air-dried to 10-12% moisture content. The block is rough-sawn with some surface irregularities. There is also an edge with bark on it that will turn off. If you wish to keep it, you will need to secure it with CA glue. There may be a few bug boreholes present. I've taken photos of all faces, so please scroll down below the first 3 photos to see more images. This block has a few end-grain cracks that you may wish to secure with CA glue prior to turning. |

Lovely shimmer, but lingering scent and uneven mist are disappointing

I love the shimmer in this. And I love that there is spf. But the spray nozzle doesn't provide a fine mist, it's more like a splatter so it's hard to apply evenly. There is also a lingering scent that I find a little overwhelming to have directly on my face. I want to love it, but I'm giving it 3 stars for those issues.

Glitter

The ingredient list checks out as a sunscreen, but for SPF 50, it seemed too watery from my observation. It was easy to apply because it’s light and watery, but I doubt it’s as effective as it should be. This glowing and lightweight sunscreen also has a faint watermelon like scent, and all those nice oil based ingredients moisturized my skin well. The spray is convenient and easy to use, and I like that about it. However, I am just not a big fan of glittery stuff. Whether it’s on a Christmas card or on my skin, whether I like it or not, it will end up being eaten or breathed in one way or another. Overall, this is an okay product, and I really wish it didn’t have glitter in it.
