The classic shape of the unit evokes a hopper feeder, thanks to its pitched roof and clear plastic side panels. The two uprights are crafted from pine, with a 1.5" diameter entry hole near the top of them. This allows small to medium birds to readily enter the reservoir, and the clear sides keep the avian activity visible. A plastic cup sits in the center of this chamber, holding mealworms or 0.5 cups of fruit, berries, or other seed to delight feathered friends. Vary the feeder’s offerings by adding up to 3.25 quarts of mixed or other seed into the reservoir. Its hinged roof wonderfully protects the chamber, and a latch here makes it easy to open and close the feeder for refilling. When opened, one plastic panel also fully removes for thorough cleaning. The attached chain allows the unit to be hung from a bracket in moments, or the flat base can accommodate a bracket (not included) for placement on a pole.
