A Sitka spruce top sings loudly and clearly, maintaining a warm balance paired with its figured Big Leaf Maple back and sides. Its list of physical and aesthetic attributes is long, but certainly not tiresome. Being that it is a limited run, Taylor has spared no attention to detail on looks or feel. Its slender neck is smooth and comfortable, and the 24 1/8” scale makes for easy trips up and down the with a West African Crelicam Ebony fretboard with shell inlays. Ivoroid and koa top purfling, a bound sound hole with rosette, and maple binding all serve their decorative purposes equally, rounding out the visual aspect of this guitar to be eye-catching in any light. Of course, it’s loaded with ES-2 electronics, ready to perform with you at any moment. This GT611e marks another fine addition to Taylor’s limited releases, blending in perfectly, yet standing out all on its own.
