Bach: The Cello Suites

Bach's violin cycle is answered by the Six Suites for Solo Cello: the exact date of composition is unknown, but it is assumed that they were composed for two cellists of the Köthen orchestra, between 1718 and 1723. Once again, Bach does not completely innovate, as several Italian composers had already composed for the solo instrument at that time, but he does take an important step forward for this instrument, which was still new at the time and on the way to supplanting the viola da gamba, and which was very much present in Bach's own works, especially in its role as continuo (sonatas, recitatives and cantata arias, etc.).

Although introduced by a Prelude, the Suites stick to the traditional scheme of the suite of dances, in the manner of the English Suites, varying like them the structure and form of this initial prelude. Virtuosic, lyrical and expressive in the slow movements (Sarabandes), these Suites by Bach (who did not compose any concertante works for cello: it was not until Haydn and Boccherini that he did so) undeniably constitute the basis of the modern repertoire for the instrument.

From 1957 until 1959, Starker recorded his first complete Bach Suites for His Master's Voice, a set that he recorded five times during his career. During these four years, Lege recorded most of his repertoire with the Hungarian cellist, a legacy of near perfection. This first recording of the Suites is unanimously regarded as one of the best recordings of this booklet.

Very detailed! Beautiful world building! Strong Heroine!
Format: Kindle
Starts off a little slow and confusing with different POV’s, but starts to all come together towards the middle to make an elaborate plot line and makes it all worth it. Beautiful world building and attention to detail as well as great writing. The cliffhanger was gut wrenching! Can’t wait for the next book!

Interesting
Format: Kindle
This was a very captivating book once you got into it thoroughly. But the third person perspective was a bit hard to get used to. But as you got into it and followed the different characters, it was interesting and filled with intrigue, conflict and forbidden love. I can’t wait to read the next one and to complete the series.

Baby bumps and bodyguards
Format: Kindle
Dark, emotional, and unexpectedly tender, Not Ready is an omegaverse romance that delivers found family feels, fierce protectiveness, and a very pregnant heroine who refuses to break. Vale’s on the run from a stalker, but lands in the arms of three private security alphas, cue the swoony tension, fake marriage twist, and slow-burn heat. It’s a little gritty, a little soft, and a whole lot addictive. If you love protective alphas, high stakes, and heroines with quiet strength, this one’s a must-read.

Strong Omegaverse Comfort and a Attention Grabbing Plot
Format: Kindle
Jillian West never misses when it comes to Omegaverse, and Not Ready is no exception. This story was the perfect blend of cozy comfort and emotional depth while still delivering a strong plot. Vale is such a powerful heroine, she is strong, capable, and determined but I love that she still allows her pack to love and take care of her. It’s that balance of independence and vulnerability that makes her so relatable. The relationship dynamics were amazing: Bishop is steadfast and completely head over heels, Mercy is skeptical but protective in his own way, and Holt is the hesitant one whose slow fall is so satisfying to watch unfold. The romance hits that sweet spot between insta-love and cautious build, keeping me hooked the entire way through. And that ending. Oh my god, the cliffhanger! I need the next book in this duet immediately.
