Vocalist Miss Maybell and pianist Charlie Judkins have sifted through thousands of pieces of sheet music, scouring flea markets, antique malls, private collections, and the Library of Congress to assemble this delightful collection of “unrecorded songs” from obscure songwriters, small-town publishers, and even some venerable hit-makers that eluded the recording studios of the era. Backed by the Ragtime Romeos, Miss Maybell brings these newly rediscovered gems to vivid life in performances that are true to the spirit of the era. Features Gavin Rice (cornet, banjo, accordion, bass, tuba), Dan Levinson (clarinet, saxophones), Andy Stein (violin), Charlie Judkins (piano), Brian Nalepka (bass, tuba), along with special guests Mike Davis (cornet), Colin Hancock (cornet), and Jim Fryer (trombone). Includes a 16-page full-color booklet with song lyrics and detailed notes about the selections. 15 tracks, 41 minutes.
