Compatibility & Fitment

This water inlet valve is the primary fill control for most modern 24-inch built-in dishwashers manufactured by BSH. Key compatible brands include:

  • Bosch: Fits hundreds of 300, 500, and 800 series models (e.g., SHE65T55UC, SHX68T55UC, SHP65T55UC, and SHV series).
  • Thermador: Compatible with high-end Emerald, Topaz, and Sapphire series professional dishwashers (e.g., DWHD650JFM).
  • Gaggenau: Direct fit for various DF and DI series professional-grade luxury dishwashers.
  • Note: This valve is typically located at the front-left or front-right bottom behind the kickplate. Please check your model number to ensure this specific dual-terminal or single-terminal configuration matches.

When to Replace

  • Dishwasher Not Filling: The cycle starts, you hear the drain pump run, but no water enters the tub, often accompanied by a faint humming noise from the valve.
  • Slow Fill / Low Water Level: The internal filter screen is clogged with sediment, or the valve isn't opening fully, leading to poor cleaning performance or dry dishes.
  • "E15" or "E24" Error Codes: While these codes can have multiple causes, a leaking or failing inlet valve can often trigger the flood switch or fill-timeout errors on Bosch displays.
  • Water Leaks Under the Unit: You find water pooling on the floor under the front of the dishwasher, even when the unit is turned off.
  • Constant Filling: The solenoid is stuck in the "Open" position, causing the dishwasher to fill even when it is not running, which can lead to flooding if the power isn't cut.

Installation Tips

  • Safety First: **CRITICAL:** You MUST turn off the water supply valve and unplug the dishwasher (or trip the 120V breaker) before starting. Water and electricity are a dangerous mix.
  • Accessing the Valve: Remove the two screws holding the front kickplate (toe-kick) panel. You do not usually need to pull the dishwasher out from the cabinet to replace this part.
  • The "Teflon Tape" Rule: If your water line uses a brass 90-degree elbow fitting, apply a small amount of plumber's thread seal tape to the threads of the brass fitting before screwing it into the new plastic valve.
  • Bucket Ready: Have a shallow pan or a towel ready when you disconnect the water line, as there will be a small amount of "residual" water trapped in the hose.
  • Check the Hose Clamp: Ensure the internal hose that connects the valve to the dishwasher tub is secured tightly with the spring clamp. A loose hose here is a common cause of leaks after a successful valve replacement.

Very Informative, but lacking in one or two areas.
Format: Kindle
I'm disabled and need a better living condition. I'm already on the waiting list for S8 and have been for the last year and a half. The book is informative, but it lacks in some areas. The author seems to think that many on disability have the option to "physically move around" doing chores and visiting offices. I'm a disabled 53 year old man, homebound and just recently lost daytime access to my little truck, only available to me during the weekends and evening hours, and when I do have it, it's rare I drive long distances. I cannot even afford to ride public transportation and have no one else to lean on for support. Also he seems to think that buying donuts/lunch for the whole office is a way in... maybe it's a way in for those that can afford it.. but not for many. Other than that.. it's worth to buy the download of the book itself.

Can be useful for some.
Format: Paperback
This book is an easy read. I read it in one sitting. I found the information interesting, and not boring. Please keep in mind that everyone's situation is different, and not all tips will apply to you. I did find some points useful for future reference. If you're someone who doesn't know much about section 8 you would probably find this book helpful. Overall, I don't regret getting this book.

Great even if you don't use section 8
This a great book even if you aren't planning to use section 8. I learned a lot of things to go on the frugal side to save some money. This guy had 300 homes so you know he was doing something right. It was so interesting to read. Great book...I read it fast and I read it 2 times. I followed a lot of his tips.
