The Fender Custom Shop Limited Edition '55 Bone Tone Stratocaster Relic stands out as an icon steeped in tradition yet reimagined for the modern player. This particular masterpiece pays homage to the groundbreaking Stratocaster models introduced in the mid-1950s, the forerunners of today's electric guitar evolution.
At the heart of this Stratocaster is a 2-piece ash body, hand-sorted for light weight, providing a resonant, robust foundation for that iconic Fender tone. The body shape, though modelled after the '56 Strat, has been meticulously constructed as a '55, delivering an authentic vintage experience in terms of both aesthetic and tone.
The neck and fingerboard are both crafted from AA flame maple, known for its bright, clear tone and beautiful flame patterns that give the guitar an exquisite look. The '54 Strat Soft "V" neck profile provides an authentic feel, while the compound fingerboard radius, transitioning from a vintage 7.25" at the nut to a more modern 9.50" at the 22nd fret, ensures comfortable playing across the entire neck.Β The finish on the back of the neck has been sanded down to the buttery smooth wood for an incredible hand-feel.
The Stratocaster is fitted with a set of hand-wound Master Design Bone Tone pickups in the neck, middle, and bridge positions. These pickups, paired with the Fat 50 Strat electronics and a 1/2 blend control, offer a wide palette of tones, from crystalline clean sounds to meaty leads and everything in between.
The guitar's finish is a unique Aged Honey Blonde, a nod to vintage models, that has been relic'd to recreate the look and feel of a well-loved instrument. The vintage-style tuning machines and Custom Shop Vintage Strat bridge, both in relic'd gold, complete the old-school aesthetic.
