Description:
In many western societies today the optimism of the 1990s and early 2000s has given way to a deep unease and sense of foreboding. In the aftermath of the financial crisis, many people feel worse off and the future seems bleak. The mood has changed “ that™s clear. But what is Âthe mood™? How can feelings be shared by many people, and how do these shared feelings shape the course of events? In this book, the sociologist Heinz Bude offers a highly original analysis of this vital but neglected topic. Moods, he argues, are ways of being in the world. Moods shape how we experience the world, which feelings and thoughts suggest themselves to us and which are excluded. But moods are not purely private: on the contrary, they form the basic tone or colouring of our collective existence and experience. They are crucial in determining our political outlook and preferences, our attitudes and identities, and they provide much of the energy that underlies forms of collective action, including social movements that seem to appear suddenly from nowhere. With the growing significance of a politics of discontent, Bude™s insightful analysis of the power of collective moods could not be more relevant. His book will appeal to anyone wanting to understand how our societies are changing in these profoundly uncertain times.

Great small soup bowls!
I bought these for a family party for soup. I was nervous they were going to be flimsy and cheap. I was pleasantly surprised how thick and sturdy they are! They were a perfect size for a smaller bowl of soup or chili. We even used them in the microwave for left overs and they held up great! There was no sagging or getting soggy which I was also worried about. They are definitely good quality. They are much better than the Walmart or cheap off brands. I also loved the price. I thought they were a great deal for the quality and quantity. The only con I had was some were hard to pull apart. It was no big deal though. I will definitely buy them again.

I Put 2 Raw Eggs in This Paper Bowl… (Video Included)
These paper bowls are smaller than standard size, and that’s actually exactly why I buy them. They’re perfect for kids’ snacks and portion control without overfilling or wasting food.
I was pleasantly surprised by how sturdy they are. These do not crumple easily like cheaper paper bowls, and they hold their shape well even when handled by kids throughout the day. We regularly use them for dry snacks like Goldfish crackers, cereal, and cookies, and a single bowl can last all afternoon through multiple refills.
They are also leak-resistant, which I tested more aggressively than most people probably would. I cracked two raw eggs into one bowl, swirled them around, and set a timer. After a minute, I it held up (over my head) without it bending or collapsing. That alone sold me on the durability. The end result - no leaks. Zero.
For the price, quality is excellent. If you’re looking for smaller bowls for snacks, portion control, these are a solid choice.
These aren’t your typical flimsy paper bowls — they’re surprisingly durable for everyday use. Kitchen Chaos Tested™ — and they passed.
⭐️I included a video of paper bowls vs raw eggs, plus some photos for size reference

Sturdy and useful
Good plates, we used them all and had no spills or plate disasters. We used them for hot and cold food. Sturdy and saves me time on dishes! I also appreciate that they look nice even if it isn't for company. Great for draining bacon with a paper towel. So much easier. Also, from my home schooling days, these are great for kids when they want to paint. Holds the paint and it is somewhere to lay your brushes.

Perfect smaller size, challenging to separate sometimes
We prefer to use the smaller paper bowls instead of the much larger ones, since they are more in tune with correct portion sizes. The size is perfect, the quality is fairly good, but docked one star because several times when wanting to get one bowl, it’s been a challenge to separate only one bowl. We would probably buy again, but these wouldn’t be our first choice.
