Fully breathable fire hood for low/mains downlights allows heat from the lamp to be effectively dissipated preventing the terminal block and fitting from overheating. An intumescent material envelope expands to fill the hood and seal the downlight cut-out in the ceiling in the event of a fire in the room below.

- In addition, Aurora firehoods are tested to BS EN ISO 10140-2: 2010
- BS EN ISO 10140-2: 2010 & BS EN ISO 10140-3: 2010 + A1: 2015 (acoustics), that they maintain the ability for an internal or seperating floor to provide sound insulation
