Replaces / Cross-Reference Part Numbers
- Replaces any round or oval dual run capacitor with matching 45/5 uF capacitance and 370V or 440V specifications.
- Always verify capacitance, voltage, and physical dimensions before purchasing.
Compatibility & Fitment
- Designed for HVAC applications including air conditioners, heat pumps, and condenser units.
- Combines two capacitors into one unit to run a compressor motor and a fan motor simultaneously.
- Three terminals are labeled: HERM (for compressor), FAN (for fan), and C (common line).
When to Replace
- The outdoor unit's fan is not spinning or turns slowly.
- The compressor fails to start or struggles to turn on.
- The A/C unit produces a humming or buzzing noise but does not start.
- The existing capacitor case is visibly swollen, bulging, or leaking oily fluid.
Installation Tips
- Disconnect all electrical power to the unit before performing service.
- Safely discharge the existing capacitor by shorting across the terminals with an insulated screwdriver.
- Note or photograph the wire connections to the C, HERM, and FAN terminals before removal.
- Connect the wires to the corresponding terminals on the new capacitor.
- Secure the new capacitor with the mounting strap or bracket.
