As part of the Epiphone "Inspired by Gibson Custom" series, this Les Paul Custom touts plenty of upgrades to more closely create the experience of the Gibson classic. This all starts, like many great Les Pauls have, with a mahogany body matched with a maple top. Gloss-finished and non-weight-relieved, this iconic single-cut shape is a marvelously dazzling centerpiece with multi-ply top and back binding.
From here, this Epiphone model brings on a one-piece mahogany neck in a Modern Medium C profile via a long neck tenon. Easily mobile from higher to lower registers, this neck matches with a bound ebony fingerboard bearing twenty-two Medium Jumbo frets and Mother of Pearl block inlays. Made for an exceptionally smooth playing feel in the palm and on the fingers, this neck has it all.
Matching the knockout nature of its neck and body, this Les Paul Custom backs it all up with two Gibson USA humbuckers. A Gibson 490T and 490R appear with this model for all the humbucking grit and warmth we've come to know from the Les Paul. CTS potentiometers and Mallory capacitors wired to Switchcraft components make these pickups not only bold, but expressive and nuanced.
This Les Paul Custom's whole setup is solidified with a reliable hardware setup. Onboard, a LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge pairs up with a LockTone Stop Bar tailpiece for a sturdy connection of string-to-body. These pieces are matched with Grover Rotomatic tuning machines and a GraphTech nut ensuring seamless stringing. This Inspired by Gibson Custom Les Paul Custom travels with an included black hardshell case.
