RÉSUMÉ: New York, années 1980 - Une jeune journaliste, Sue Charlton, fille d'un magnat de la presse, entreprend de faire un reportage sur un chasseur de crocodiles réputé pour son courage et sa décontraction face au danger. Elle part donc en Australie et rencontre l'homme en question : Mick "Crocodile” Dundee. Après l'avoir accompagné dans le bush, elle parvient à le convaincre de venir à New York, afin de poursuivre son reportage. Tombé amoureux de Sue, Mick accepte l'invitation et va découvrir la jungle new-yorkaise.
