Arboretum is a card game that blends hand management, set collection and tile-placement. Or, in Arboretum’s case, card-placement. An arboretum is a garden dedicated to trees, and in Dan Cassar’s game, players compete to build their own layouts. Who will make the best paths through their own tranquil woodland?

The deck is 80 cards strong, and the cards have outstanding, gorgeous artwork on them. They feature eight different species of tree, and each tree type has numbers 1-8 in it. You can almost smell the new foliage or feel the roughness of the bark, just by looking at them! Players begin with a hand of seven cards, and their own discard pile. The remaining cards make a public draw deck.

On your turn, you draw two cards – either from an opponent’s discard pile, or blind from the deck. Then you play one card from your hand into your arboretum, and discard one. You play cards to make a grid of sorts. Once the deck has run out, the game ends and scoring occurs. But there’s more than one thorn in among the branches, here.

Throughout the game you’ll aim to place trees in an orthogonal, ascending order into your grid. The tree types don’t have to be identical, but the first and last tree in a ‘path’ must be the same. This path can meander! It can go up, down, left and right. Each tree species scores at a rate of one point per tree in that ‘path’. (You score double if all trees in a path are the same type, though.)

The twist in Arboretum is that only one player can score each tree type. At the end, players reveal their remaining hand. Whoever has the highest tree card in their hand scores that tree species’ path in their arboretum. Meaning, everyone else scores zero for that tree type! Beware though, because a 1 wraps round and beats an 8 in this manner, so it’s no good hoarding all the 8s…

Arboretum is an interactive, cunning, strategy card game. It will ‘leaf’ you wanting to play it over and over again!

Good sunscreen, but the shade didn’t work for me
Color: Medium
I bought the Colorescience Flex in Medium because I had seen great reviews and liked the idea of a tinted mineral sunscreen. The formula itself felt really high quality and it did provide good sun protection, but the shade didn’t end up working for my skin tone. ✔️ What I liked: - Great daily mineral sun protection. - Lightweight texture and easy to apply. - Didn’t irritate my skin or cause breakouts. - Nice natural finish at first. ❌ What I didn’t like: - On my skin, the Medium shade looked orange. - The color didn’t blend well with my undertone. - I had to work it in quite a bit to avoid a noticeable line with my neck. I think the formula is really good, but the shade selection definitely requires care. In my case, it just wasn’t the right match

Finally found my perfect match!! In foundation!
Color: Medium, Color: Medium
I’ve used many high-end foundations over the years, but Colorescience has become my everyday favorite. It feels incredibly lightweight on the skin and provides a natural, healthy-looking finish that doesn’t feel heavy or cakey. The added SPF is a huge bonus and makes my morning routine so much easier. I also love how perfectly it matches my skin tone, it blends seamlessly and looks like my skin, just more even and polished. If you prefer a natural, lightweight foundation with the added benefit of sun protection, this one is definitely worth trying.

Worth the investment! It lasts!!
Color: Medium, Color: Medium
I have been using this religiously as my foundation for over a year! I love it. It works best for me when I use moistuzer, let it dry enough so you have a little slip. A LITTLE goes a long way and double check the bottle because even when it feels empty it’s not fully empty :) it’s not a full coverage approach to foundation I use an elf glo setting over it in winter . It’s light weight and the SPF was what I was looking for!

Expensive, but a good product!
Color: Fair
Love this product. Comes out of the tube white but changes color as you apply. I find you do need moisturizer on your face to get a smoother application - I tend to mix it with my moisturizer before applying and it works well. Am currently on my 3rd tube of the stuff. A bit pricey, but for my skin it sits better than most other products I've tried and doesn't make me break out or look shiny.

the perfect everyday tinted sunscreen! worth the $$
Color: Light, Color: Light
this product was highly recommended to me by my esthetician. I was hesitant to try it because of the price point, but once I learned I could use my HSA funds I immediately purchased! the product is not overly greasy or oily- it gives a beautiful glow. I would recommend setting with a setting spray or powder for longevity. the coverage is buildable, but won't be a fix-all for someone desiring full coverage- as an acne girly, I am satisfied with this product while paired with a few dabs of my concealer. it works well with other colorescience products AND with my other everyday makeup products which was a huge plus for me. it doesn't feel heavy on the skin either which was also a huge selling point for me as someone who needs coverage but hates the feeling of a full face. all in all, I think the product is absolutely worth the money regardless of it being HSA approved or not. I would recommend to anyone who loves wearing makeup but also is looking for something light and effortless. one note about the shade- I have fair olive skin but tan easily, so I got the shade "light" -but I might try the shade "fair" next time as this shade pulls slightly orange on me. the shade matching can be difficult, but I think that's to be expected with a color changing product.
