The Boss 50th Anniversary Blues Driver is a release in commemoration of a milestone year of Boss history. Joining the DS-1 Distortion and SD-1 Super Overdrive in receiving the 50th anniversary treatment package, the long-favored BD-2 Blues Driver comes to the party, dressed with flash in an exclusive metallic finish.
The BD-2 was first introduced in 1995 and was one of the first compact pedals built to produce an organic tube-like overdrive response - as opposed to a harder clipping distortion or fuzz circuit. The tone of the BD-2 circuit has a type of body and detail that can serve as the benchmark of a player's overdrive tone when running into a clean amp and has enough clean headroom on tap to serve as a boost/overdrive.
The BD-2 Blues Driver is a staple pedal for rock, pop, and country guitar players. It has inspired countless modifications and new drive pedals over its 25+ year history of production. In 2023, the Blues Driver helps to acknowledge the Golden Jubilee of Boss products.
