1980年代のSPHINXのバードモチーフブローチ。羽づくろいをする鳥の様子が、潔くメタルのみで表現された一品。

鳥は大きな翼を広げ、体をよじって尾に嘴を伸ばしており、鶴、白鳥、孔雀のような大きく気高い鳥を思わせる美しいシルエットです。

頭部や尾、羽の一部はつるりとした鏡面仕上げ、羽やボディは羽毛の質感が繊細に施されたテクスチャー仕上げ。SPHINXのクラフトマンシップを感じる作品です。

シンプルで永く愛せる美しさがあり、身に纏えば装いに気品を添えてくれます。

【SPHINX(スフィンクス)とは】
1948年にイギリスで創業したジュエリーカンパニー。まるで本物のジュエリーに見える、高品質で美しいデザインのコスチュームジュエリーを制作していました。自社製品の他にもKenneth Jay Lane、Nina Ricciなどのデザイナーや、ヨーロッパやアメリカの高級デパート向けにジュエリーデザインを手掛けていました。
刻印には"SPHINX"とシリアルナンバー、またはどちらか一方が刻まれましたが、需要を満たすために刻印をせず、急いで出荷していた時期も。会社は1990年代後半に閉業しました。
