The Martin GPC-X2E, part of the reimagined X Series, is a guitar that blends aesthetic appeal with functional design. This acoustic-electric model is characterized by its distinctive hand-rubbed satin wood top. The back and sides of the guitar are made from hyper-durable high-pressure laminate (HPL) with striking a cocobolo pattern. This use of HPL contributes to the guitar's durability and visual appeal.
The top of the GPC-X2E is crafted from spruce, known for its resilience and ability to produce a clear, resonant sound. The guitar's Grand Performance body shape, known for its balanced tone with added bass, features a cutaway design to facilitate access to the upper frets. This model is also designed with player comfort in mind, featuring a thinner fingerboard with a gently beveled edge and a modernized bridge contour.
The neck, fingerboard, and bridge of the GPC-X2E are made from select hardwood, chosen for its stability and durability. The neck follows a PA profile with a high-performance taper, offering ease of playability. The fingerboard, adorned with a Style 28 faux abalone pattern inlay, has a radius of 16 inches and houses 20 frets.
Electronically, the GPC-X2E is equipped with Martin E-1 electronics, which include a built-in chromatic tuner and controls for volume, tone, and phase. This setup allows for precise tonal adjustments and ensures the guitar's versatility in various playing environments. The guitar is completed with satin chrome closed gear tuning machines, a white corian nut, and scalloped X-bracing, contributing to its overall sound quality and stability.
Finished in a satin natural look, the GPC-X2E is as elegant as it is playable. The Martin GPC-X2E is a testament to Martin's commitment to quality, combining traditional craftsmanship with modern design elements.
