A true bird of prey, as it were, the Grestch Limited Edition 1958 Custom Falcon is on the hunt in a deep Emerald Night finish! This classic, showstopping hollowbody Gretsch spreads its wings on an enormously theatrical limited-edition model dressed to the nines with all Gretsch's timeless electronics and appointments. If there were ever a time to be proudly "For the birds," now's the time!

This limited release G6136TG-58 steps up to the plate and aims its bat for the outfield with a flurry of fine hollowbody Gretsch elements. Everything here, however, starts first with a loud-and-proud Gretsch Falcon hollowbody brought together from laminated maple. Filling to a comfortable 2.75" thick, the Falcon's laminated maple hollowbody presents a full, resonant, and powerful sonic profile right off the bat. Within, Gretsch's 1959 Trestle Bracing provides exceptional additional balance and projection for a reverently retro Falcon feel. This Falcon is decked in a dazzling and dark Emerald Night-colored lacquer for a classy top-off.

At this point, this Falcon rustles its feathers with a set maple neck in a Gretsch Standard "U" profile. Filling the palm with a more vintage-style feel, this neck pairs up with a rich ebony fingerboard measuring out to a flat twelve-inch radius. This ebony board lines up twenty-two Medium Jumbo frets with Mother of Pearl Neo-Classic thumbnail inlays for an understated, effortlessly cool look and a seamless fretting feel on the fingertips. Luminlay side dots accompany on the fingerboard's side.

Audibly, this Falcon cries with two TV Jones Ray Butts Ful-Fidelity Filter'Tron humbucking pickups. Onboard, these two vividly vintage Filter'Trons bark and bite with all the retro humbucker warmth and grit needed for a mold-breaking musical experience. Expansive tone and volume controls make for a tonal mixing experience that's deep without becoming unintuitive.

These powerful humbuckers are backed by a sturdy hardware setup with plenty of charm of its own. First, the gold-sparkle-laden headstock is lined with gold-finished Grover Imperial tuning machines and a bone nut for quick stringing and solid intonation. Second, a Space Control bridge appears at the opposite end of the scale with a pinned ebony base. Lastly, one of the centerpieces of the whole model, a Bigsby B6GP vibrato tailpiece tops everything off with expressive vibrato pitch shifts. This Gretsch Falcon travels with an included hardshell case.

Easy To Use
These work great for a really good price. I love using these when I'm making dishes that would be difficult to clean otherwise.

Value, Durability, Everyday Use
What I liked: - Price-to-value is the standout. These were significantly better priced than similar packs I’ve bought from local grocery stores and big discount retailers. - For everyday, disposable use—think casseroles, baked pasta, brownies, roasted veggies—the lighter weight is perfectly fine. - They stack neatly and are easy to store, which matters when you’re buying in bulk. What I didn’t like: - They’re a bit flimsier and not as thick as the store-brand pans I’ve used before. You can feel the difference when you handle them. - For heavier dishes (large lasagnas, big roasts, or anything dense with sauces), a single pan can flex more than I’d like. How I used them: - Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve used these for baking brownies, roasting chicken thighs with vegetables, and prepping freezer meals. When I expected more weight or lots of liquid, I doubled up the pans, which solved the flex issue and kept everything stable. - I also tested bending one to compare sturdiness. In the accompanying video, you’ll see me gently flexing the pan to show the “give.” In the photo, I placed this pan next to a thicker pan I bought at a regular store so you can see the difference in gauge. My takeaway: - If you need heavy-duty pans for very weighty dishes, these aren’t a perfect one-for-one replacement for thicker, premium options. However, for routine baking, storage, and serving—especially when you plan to toss the pan afterward—the cost savings make a lot of sense. - Doubling them for heavier recipes is a simple workaround that maintains stability while still keeping the overall cost lower than buying thicker single-use pans. Verdict: - I’ll be purchasing these again for everyday use and bulk meal prep. The value is strong, and the performance is solid when you match the pan to the job or double up as needed.
