De wijn

Zeer goed gebalanceerde, doch atypische Sauvignon Blanc. Door het warmere klimaat in Jumilla ontwikkelt de druif zich anders dan in meer noordelijk gelegen gebieden. De smaak zit in het wat rijpere fruit zoals perzik en abrikoos, afgewisseld met de zuren van ananas en passievrucht.

Een wijn gemaakt door Bodegas Alceño in opdracht van de Duitse familie Hoffman, de eigenaars van een prachtig, hogergelegen perceel aangeplant met sauvignon blanc. De lokale bevolking noemt het perceel naar de Duitse familie en zo kreeg de wijn deze niet zo Spaans klinkende naam. 

Het wijnhuis

Bodegas Alceño is een familiebedrijf gelegen in het centrum van Jumilla, Spanje en bestaat sinds 1870. Daarmee is het het oudste wijnbedrijf werkzaam in deze streek. Vandaag is het domein eigendom van de familie Bastida, wijnbouwers uit La Mancha, en wordt er gebruik gemaakt van nieuwe en moderne technieken om wijn te produceren. De aanwezige faciliteiten alsook het gehele bewerkingsproces werden afgestemd op de hedendaagse kwaliteitsvereisten. De symbiose van deze technologische vooruitgang en de ervaring en know-how van uitzonderlijke professionals vertaalt het karakter van deze eeuwenoude wijnstreek feilloos naar de wijnen die jaar na jaar eervolle vermeldingen ontvangen.

So thrilled I took a chance on these. Finding boots is impossible for me. I have wide feet, a super high instep, a bunion on one foot, and I wear a hard to find size (10.5). I ordered the 10.5 and 11 in these expecting I might need to size up for width (if I could even get them on).
