De LAN iSilencer+ van SilentPower is ontwikkeld voor een vaak onderschatte zwakke plek in moderne AV- en hifi-installaties: de LAN-verbinding. Netwerkkabels transporteren niet alleen data, maar kunnen ook ongewenste interferentie en geïnduceerde stromen meenemen vanuit routers, switches en andere netwerkcomponenten. Dat kan details vervagen en de stabiliteit van een netwerkspeler of streamer beïnvloeden. De LAN iSilencer+ pakt dit probleem bij de bron aan en zorgt voor een schoner, rustiger signaal richting je netwerkapparaat.

De basis van de LAN iSilencer+ is hoogwaardige galvanische isolatie, waarbij de ingang en uitgang fysiek van elkaar gescheiden zijn. Hierdoor blijft je data op volle Gigabit-snelheid doorlopen, maar worden verschillen in aardpotentiaal en ongewenste AC-gebonden stromen effectief geblokkeerd. Dit doorbreekt het “ruispad” dat vaak ontstaat door minder goed gefilterde routers en netwerkapparaten, die anders hun storing door het hele netwerk kunnen verspreiden.

Na de isolatiefase volgt passieve RF-filtratie die resterende hoogfrequente interferentie verder reduceert. In een wereld waarin RF-ruis overal aanwezig is, helpt deze filtering om het signaal schoner te houden en timingproblemen downstream te beperken, wat vooral relevant is rond kritieke conversiestappen in digitale audiosystemen. Het resultaat is een betrouwbaardere netwerkverbinding en een stabielere basis voor je streamer of netwerkspeler.

Naast ruisreductie biedt de LAN iSilencer+ ook bescherming. Het ingebouwde Transient Voltage Suppression-systeem beveiligt aangesloten apparatuur tegen plotselinge spanningspieken en surges tot 400W piekvermogen. Voor langdurige duurzaamheid is bovendien de behuizing opnieuw ontworpen met verbeterde strain relief, zodat de verbinding ook mechanisch robuust blijft.

Works as intended, but is badly designed

This air purifier is great so far. I've only had it set up for about a day, but it seems to me that the air is cleaner so far. I got it for my office, mostly to make sure that there's less dust in the air because my allergies have been going crazy recently. The downside of this product is that the manual is just completely wrong. Both the manual + the box say to turn the bottom lid counterclockwise to open. However, I tried that and literally could not open it for the life of me. When I looked closer, I saw that there were pins holding the lid in place, and that the only place they could move was to the right - which meant turning the lid clockwise, not counter-clockwise. That wasted 15 minutes of my time trying to figure out, because clockwise didn't work either until I wiggled it. Likely the plastic surrounding the air filter was caught in the lid. Like another reviewer mentioned, the bottom lid where the filter goes doesn't really stay on tight, which is annoying. It took me a few tries to be able to put it down without the lid coming loose and the filter falling out. It's light in weight but very loud, at least when it comes to being on high (full blast). Medium is tolerable, low is preferable for whenever I'm meeting with a client. Sometimes I even turn it all the way off. It was maybe worth the price? We'll see if it helps my allergies.
