En zij komen nu gerechtigheid halen!” Om de rust in Carcassonne te herstellen, moeten de spelers samen werken om de dolende geesten weer tot rust te brengen.Carcassonne: De Mist is de eerste versie van Carcassonne die coöperatief kan worden gespeeld. Door samen te werken moeten er genoeg punten worden verzameld. Je verliest als groep als alle tegels op zijn òf als er teveel geesten op het speelveld zijn beland. Met elke nieuwe tegel waar mist op te zien is, komen nieuwe geesten in het spel. Alleen door een mistveld met tegels volledig af te sluiten kunnen de geesten tot rust worden gebracht. Maar pas op! Het aantal tegels is beperkt en er moet een minimum aantal punten worden behaald.
Carcassonne: De Mist heeft 6 verschillende niveaus, waarbij met elk niveau nieuwe, uitdagende spelelementen worden geïntroduceerd. Daarnaast bevat het spel de regels voor de variant “Geesten, Kastelen en Kerkhoven”. Door middel van deze regels kan Carcassonne: De Mist worden gebruikt als een normale uitbreiding op het basisspel. Volop variatie dus voor zowel Carcassonne-fans als nieuwe spelers!
