Lionel Osmen & Cie is in meerdere opzichten een heel bijzonder handelshuis. Bij Osmin richt men zich volledig op de bijzondere wijnen uit het zuid Westen van Frankrijk. Zo maakt men onder andere wijn in Jurancon, Pacherenc du vic Bilh, Cahors, Gaillac en de Bergerac. Natuurlijk mag een mooie serie Armagnac ook niet ontbreken. Een behoorlijk gamma dus. Alle wijngaarden worden zo biologisch mogelijk behandeld en men heeft als doel om volledig residuvrij te werken. Dit is niet altijd even gemakkelijk, omdat het zuid Westen van Frankrijk veel meer invloeden geniet van de Atlantische oceaan. Het is hier dus vaak koeler en vooral vochtiger dan in andere delen van Frankrijk. Het klimaat zorgt er natuurlijk wel voor dat Osmin perfect uit de voeten kan met lokale druivenrassen als Petit en Gros Manseng richting de kust en bijvoorbeeld Malbec in het meer landinwaarts gelegen Cahors. 

In 2010 lanceerde het bedrijf een ambitieus bomenplantprogramma. Deze aanpak heeft het bedrijf in staat hebben gesteld om deel te nemen aan de herbebossing van het Landes-bos na de catastrofale stormen aan het einde van de vorige eeuw en om de winderige en stormachtige corridors opnieuw in evenwicht te brengen. Eind 2018 waren er bijna 43.000 bomen herplant, ofwel meer dan 40 ha herbebost bos!

I love this type of story. And omegaverse is one of my all time favorite genres. But there are a few things that pulled me out of my enjoyment while I was reading. It was repetitive at times as well as struggled with telling not showing. So we didn’t always feel like we were experiencing things with the main character. There were also some plot holes but they may still be answered in part 2. Now this isn’t to be said I didn’t enjoy parts of the story. I loved the almost instant love between Mila and Oliver. And how he started changing around her.
