Destijds was het een geschenk van koning João V aan een van zijn hofdames, Dona Maria, op wie hij hopeloos verliefd was. Op dit prachtige, oude domein wordt wijn gemaakt volgens de modernste technologie maar daarnaast ook nog steeds op de klassieke manier. Zo zijn de druiven voor deze wijn, afkomstig van 40 jaar oude stokken, handmatig geplukt en in de marmeren lagares met de voeten getreden. De druivensoort Touriga Nacional is een van de belangrijkste inheemse blauwe druivensoorten van Portugal en en wordt gebruikt voor port-wijnen maar ook voor karakteristieke, heerlijke, geconcentreerde rode wijnen. De wingerd beslaat 80 ha waarvan 12 ha metwitte en 68 met rode druiven is beplant. De terroir bestaat uit klei en kalk die water vasthoudt waardoor geen irrigatie nodig is. De druiven worden met de hand geoogst, met de voeten getreden, waarna de most in 7 dagen vergist. Na demalolactische gisting rijpt de jonge wijn 12 maanden op nieuw Frans eiken. Op dronk en houdbaar, mits goed bewaard, tot 10 jaar na de oogst. Stands up to puppy teeth!

I was fostering 2 7-week old puppies that chewed on EVERYTHING! I got these AND a couple of the Kong brand chew toys. These have stood up much better to the puppy teeth than the Kongs did. I throw them in the dishwasher (not every time) and I also have a small straw brush to clean them. They are easy to fill, and once they are done with the treats (PB butter, yogurt, pumpkin, apple sauce etc.), they continue to chew on these. When you throw them, they have a fun bonce. I ended up foster failing one of the puppies, but we still use these often. They still look brand new and I have had them for about 6 months. I got the medium, my dog is about 13 lbs now and the size is perfect for her. The material is strong and I don't hear a peep when she is chewing on it. I would 100% recommend these!

Great toys. Bouncy, chewable long term.

We got these for our puppy and to see how they would compare to kongs.
Our dogs love these more than the kongs and so far, with two chewy dogs, they have not destroyed these yet.
They are very bouncy and provide a lot of chasing fun.
We will be buying more and we recommend these.

Subtle, great dog toy design!

These things are amazing. Stuff them with peanut butter and treats and freeze them of course, but football spike them across the yard to drive your overly hyped dog nuts! And the hole allows you to safely pry it out of a tug battle , just a great design! And it can bobble across a small living space without getting lost like a ball would. Love it!

Treats fall out way to easy

Kinda sorta awful at holding treats in it, they just fall out without my dog even having to touch it really. I spread peanut butter on the inside of the toy and freeze it..works much better that way, nay, works amazing that way. I got this toy to stimulate his brain, so he’s either much smarter than every other dog or the treats fall out too easy..I believe it’s the ladder.
