Het Comme des Garçons PLAY Black Heart Patch Shirt is gemaakt van 100% katoenen oxford-weefsel in een klassieke hemdkwaliteit die The PLAY-lijn al decennialang gebruikt als basis voor zijn kenmerkende logo-integraties. Oxford-katoen heeft een herkenbare diagonale ribbel in het weefsel, een zwaarder handgevoel dan poplin en een natuurlijk weerstand tegen kreukvorming die het overhemd zijn bijzonder praktische reputatie geeft. De kleur is Wit. Het onderscheidende element is de Black Heart-patch op de linkerborst: het met de hand getekende hart-met-ogen logo van grafisch kunstenaar Filip Pagowski, dat Comme des Garçons PLAY bij zijn lancering in 2002 als huissignature koos. Het zwarte hart op het witte shirt is de meest directe kleurcontrast-variant in het PLAY-hemdenassortiment. Het shirt heeft een rechte Franse placket (geen zichtbare knopen maar een verborgen sluiting achter een aaneengesloten frontbaan), een spread collar en lange mouwen met enkelvoudige manchetknopen. De trim fit snit past het overhemd goed om de romp zonder te nauw te zijn.

Het Black Heart Patch Shirt heeft een trim fit pasvorm: smaller dan een regular fit maar wijder dan een slim. Schoudernaad zit goed op de schouder en de borstwijdte laat ruimte voor een t-shirt eronder. Het 100% katoenen oxford heeft geen rek. Valt normaal op maat; bij twijfel de eigen maat aanhouden. Oxford-katoen krimpt licht bij de eerste was: was op 30 graden en hang te drogen op een hanger voor de beste kraagvorm.

Draag het Witte PLAY Black Heart Shirt half open over een wit t-shirt met een donkerblauwe slim-fit chino en witte leather sneakers voor een casual-but-precise look. Of draag het volledig dicht met een donker blazertje erover als smart-casual interpretatie waarbij de Black Heart patch als enig accessoire fungeert.

This is an extraordinarily well-researched manual. It presents for the reader a Catholic-Christian perspective on psychology/mental health which is faithful to the magisterial teachings of the Church and the Christian tradition. So much good will come to the clinician/professor/pastoral leader/student/generally-concerned-citizen who engages thoughtfully with the CCMMP. More to the point, those whom they serve will reap the real harvest. This could be one of the most important books written in this century. Yes. Bold claim. Bolder still and brighter yet the vision of the human person elucidated in this volume. "The glory of God is a human person fully alive" (St. Irenaeus of Lyon) The CCMMP sheds light for the reader to catch that vision of God's image (the human person) in a world so dimmed by confusion. Read this book. Or pick put some chapters that are of particular interest to you and go through those. You'll be glad you did.

Towards a Christian Psychology or Cure of Souls

Mental health professionals will benefit from this comprehensive manual that has been extensively researched, as it provides a way forward in the direct application of the Christian tradition in a therapeutic context. This book restores the authority within psychology back to the spiritual dimension rather than the empiricism and rationalism that is the legacy of the Enlightenment project and consequently of mainstream psychology. An important matter not addressed in this study are the arguably deleterious impacts of the Second Vatican Council (1962–1965) on the hearts and minds of the faithful, not to mention the crisis in religious vocations to which it has led. Therefore, references to the doctrinal teachings of Vatican II (and the contemporary church) should be considered with discernment so that a clear distinction can be maintained between traditional Catholicism and some of its modern aberrations (Coomaraswamy, 2006). Notwithstanding, the book has many strengths that will benefit therapists who are interested in Christian psychology, or the “science of the soul” found within all of the world’s religions.
