Als speler heb je in Trinity: Souls of Zill O'll de controle over drie personages en het is hun taak om de velden, steden en duistere kamers te doorzoeken en uiteindelijk koning Balor te verslaan! Het team bestaat in Trinity: Souls of Zill O'll uit een krijger, een huurmoordenaar en een tovenaar. Elk van deze personages heeft natuurlijk zo zijn eigen voordelen, en daarom kan je met een druk op de knop heen en weer wisselen tussen de verschillende personages. Doe je dit goed en snel, dan kan je zelfs combinatie-aanvallen inzetten met jouw groepje helden. Trinity: Souls of Zill O'll laat je aardig vrij in het doorkruisen van de wereld.
