Alle aspecten van het tekenen met potlood passeren de revue: je leert vormen herkennen, basislijnen zetten, uitvergroten, structuren nabootsen, werken met licht en donker, de juiste handhouding en het zetten van lijnen met potlood. e volgt diverse oefeningen om je techniek te verbeteren en werkt van begin tot eind aan projecten om je skills te oefenen met grafietpotlood, kleurpotlood, pastelpotlood en charcoal. De moeilijkheidsgraad verschilt en wordt opgebouwd naarmate je verder in het boek komt, zodat zelfs de geoefende tekenaar nog nieuwe dingen zal leren! Julia Woning studeerde af aan de Willem de Kooning Academie en werkt sindsdien als illustrator, portrettist, beeldend kunstenaar en teken- en schilderdocent. Ze werkt in haar eigen atelier in Bergschenhoek, waar ze ook verschillende workshops verzorgt.
