De wijnmaakster van J Vineyards is genaamd Nicole Hitchcock en zij streeft er naar om koele kust wijngaarden en de zonovergoten heuvels te vertalen naar de fles. Nou dat is wel gelukt hoor en het zijn wijnen met zo veel passie en kracht. Maar dat gaat niet vanzelf spreekt Nicole, er wordt hard gewerkt in de wijngaarden om de druiven te laten stralen als geen ander. Het belangrijkste is dat iedere druif zijn eigen wijngaard heeft en wordt aangeplant op de beste plek. Voor deze rode Pinot Noir is dat namelijk wat hoger gelegen in de Russian River Valley. Gewoon weg omdat de druif het beter doet in een koeler klimaat.

Houtlagering voor de J Vineyards Estate Grown Pinot Noir

De Pinot Noir wijngaard is aangeplant sinds 1986 en staat er perfect bij. De zon kan haar werk doen en de druiven perfect laten rijpen. Door de wind en koelte van de nacht krijgen de Pinot Noir druiven voldoende koelte. Dit si erg belangrijk anders zouden het rijpingsproces te snel gaan en kunnen de druiven niet voldoende kracht halen uit de bodem. De bodem bevat namelijk heel veel indrukken die de druiven opnemen. Als de perfecte rijpheid is bereikt worden ze geheel met de hand geoogst en zeer streng geselecteerd. Enkel de beste trossen worden verzameld in kleine kratjes en naar J Vineyards Estate Grown gebracht. Waarop ze en lange houtrijping van wel twaalf maanden. Van de gebruikte vaten is dertig procent nieuw en ongebruikt. Waardoor deze Pinto Noir nog voller en krachtiger wordt.

Vol en zeer krachtig deze J Vineyards Estate Grown Pinot Noir

Het eind resultaat is prachtig een klassieke wijn met indrukken zoals het bedoelt is. Het begint allemaal bij het inschenken van deze rode wijn. De kleur is namelijk zeer uitnodigend met geuren van cranberry, bosbessentaart en kardemom. Als je goed met het glas walst komen alle geuren vrij en ontdekken wij viooltjes, theebladeren en toast. De smaak is betoverend en bijna eng zo mooi, veel rijkdom van rood fruit zoals frambozen en aardbeien maar ook lichte kruiden zijn goed waarneembaar. Achter op de tong geeft hij ook nog wat vanille, gebrand eiken en sinaasappel. Wat een topper, echt een feest!

Ive ordered two different batches of these pillows, the first was a 2 pack, the second batch was a 4 pack. The pillows that came in the 2 pack have a different quality to them. The memory foam feels thicker, takes long to depress and to spring back to form. It offers more resistance, a heavier odor (at the start), and was the pillow that I fell in love with. Things changed when I ordered the 4 pack a couple months later. There was an inconsistency between the foam in these two different batches. both sets of pillows are comfortable. The first batch being firmer means I had to remove more foam before it became comfortable but the 2nd batch being more springy, I was able to keep all the foam inside. I docked a couple stars because I’m not able to provide a consistent experience with these pillows across all three beds in my home. If you need a pillow, order a set and be happy. If you want a bunch of memory foam pillows throughout your house, maybe look elsewhere as these may not all be identical.

These pillows also have a good weight to them, so they don’t feel cheap. They fluff up great and seem very well made.
