Thelema Mountain Red

Thelema Mountain Red is een rode wijn uit Zuid-Afrika, afkomstig uit de regio Western Cape / Stellenbosch. Hij is een blend van druiven zoals Shiraz, Petit Verdot en Grenache (en afhankelijk van de jaargang ook Merlot en Cabernet Sauvignon). De druiven groeien op wijngaarden op 380–530 meter hoogte in de Helshoogte Pass. De wijn rijpt 18 maanden in eiken vaten, wat zorgt voor meer complexiteit en zachte tannines. 

De wijn heeft aroma’s van donker fruit zoals moerbei, pruim en kersen, met warme kruidige tonen en een subtiele hint van peper. In de mond voelt hij vol en soepel aan, met rijp fruit en milde tannines en een lange afdronk. Deze wijn past goed bij gegrild vlees, barbecuegerechten, pasta met tomatensaus of stevige ovenschotels. Serveer hem rond 16-18°C.

Wijnhuis Thelema
Thelema Mountain Vineyards is een familiebedrijf gelegen op de top van de Helshoogte Pass in Stellenbosch, Zuid-Afrika. Opgericht in 1983 door Gyles Webb, transformeerde het van een oude fruitboerderij tot een toonaangevend wijnhuis. De wijngaarden liggen op hoogtes tot 530 meter, wat zorgt voor een koel klimaat en ideale omstandigheden voor druiventeelt. In januari 2023 bracht Verboon Wines een bezoek aan dit bijzondere wijnhuis en werd onder de indruk van de passie en toewijding die hier heersen.

So far so good with this deodorant regarding how well it performs through a full day of light activity (morning yoga, playing with the dog, carrying kids around, etc.). The scent is light and I notice it periodically throughout the day, but it's light enough to not be overwhelming or smell like a strong cologne. The fragrance is very "Man Fireplace Candle" type scent, but in a good way that is perfect for its purpose. My biggest complaint is the deodorant is very malleable, almost putty-like, so it tends to get squished out the sides of the lid when open/closed daily, therefore making it messy. This is relatively avoidable by just winding down the wheel each time, but is "annoying" as opposed to just using and capping. It glides on smoothly and feels good on skin or "hairy pits". A little pricier, but it's worth it in my opinion. Will be purchasing again.
