Hij heeft in de jaren 1865 1870, verreweg het merendeel in 1865 1867, alle toenmalige Nederlandse gemeenten in kaart gebracht. De gemeentekaartjes zijn dan

Jacob Kuijper was een bekende aardrijkskundige en cartograaf in de jaren vijftig, zestig en zeventig van de 19e eeuw. Hij heeft in de jaren 1865-1870, verreweg het merendeel in 1865-1867, alle toenmalige Nederlandse gemeenten in kaart gebracht. De gemeentekaartjes zijn dan ook vooral bekend onder de noemer Kuyperkaartjes. Kuijper was mede-oprichter van het Koninklijk Nederlands Aardrijkskundig Genootschap (KNAG).
