Op zoek naar een rode wijn met houtlagering, zachte tonen en een perfecte prijskwaliteit verhouding? Zoek niet verder want deze Fosso Corno Mayro Montepulciano is precies wat u zoekt! Fosso Corno, een jong wijnbedrijf dat zijn oorsprong in 2001 vind. In dat jaar startte broer en zus Biscardo, in het hart van de Abruzzen dit geweldige wijnhuis. Marco en Sabrina wilde de focus leggen op de meest bekende druif uit dit gebied, de Montepulciano. Fosso Corno bezit inmiddels ruim 30 hectare aan wijngaarden die zijn gelegen op slechts รฉรฉn heuvel. Deze heuvel is opgedeeld in 17 verschillende wijngaarden met allemaal een ander terroir en een andere ligging naar de zon. Deze verschillende invloeden vanaf dezelfde heuvel maken een bijzonder en mooi verschil.

Houtlagering van 6 tot 8 maanden

Wat maakt deze rode wijn nu anders dan de Fosso Corno Aires? Dat is de houtlagering. Voor deze rode wijn groeien de druiven ook op op de prachtige helling waarop alle wijngaarden van Fosso Corno te vinden zijn. Deze Montepulciano druiven staan zonnig aangeplant maar ontvangen ook nog voldoende schaduw en verfrissing van de Adriatische zee waardoor de rijping van deze druiven niet te snel verloopt. Het is erg van belang dat de rijping niet te snel verloopt omdat de druiven dan een te hoog fruit gehalte voor deze wijn zouden bevatten. Deze precisie klus is wel besteed aan de wijnmaker van Fosso Corno. Hij weet precies wat de druiven nodig hebben voor deze Mayro en zal er dan ook alles aan doen om de druiven hiervan te voorzien. Wanneer de wijnmaker volledig tevreden is over de kwaliteit van de benodigde Montepulciano druiven zal hij de oogst laten starten. Om er ook nu weer voor te zorgen dat de kwaliteit perfect is, geschied de oogst volledig met de hand en in de vroege ochtend. De druiven worden in kleine karakteristieke manden naar de winery vervoert waarna de druiven worden geperst. De vergisting is op roestvrijstalen tanks waarna de wijn voor een periode van 6 tot 8 maanden op Franse eikenhouten vaten mag rusten en rijpen.

Hoe smaakt deze rode Mayro wijn?

Wat een prachtig resultaat heeft heel de inspanning in de wijngaarden en de winery met zicht mee gebracht. Wat een ongekend mooie rode wijn. De kleur is herkenbaar voor de Montepulciano, prachtig robijnrood. In de geur noteerden wij delicate tonen van pruimen en kersen die worden afgewisseld met hinten van leer, tabak en vanille. De smaak is vol en stevig maa ook erg zacht. Door de houtlagering is er een milde ondertoon van licht vanille. Daarbij heerlijke nuances van zwarte bes, bramen en een klein pepertje. De afdronk is vol en intens en rijk aan vele smaken. Een waar juweel kunnen we deze rode Fosso Corno wijn wel noemen.

Received giftcard money to replace my plan-protected malfunctioning motherboard
I've been subscribing to the Asurion protection plan for a while. Recently, an Asus Prime PC motherboard I had bought a few months ago on Amazon stopped working well. I ended up considering filing a claim with Asurion to see if they would either fix/replace it or issue the purchase price money, so I could buy the failed electronics replacement component again for my custom-built PC. I went to the protection plan's website and started the claim filing process but couldn't find the category my failed component would be under in order to select it from the drop-down list. I ended up messaging the live customer service. The chat messaging was somewhat slow, the agent told me they were experiencing some communication delays throughout their systems. Ultimately, the agent was very kind and understanding, and completed the claim filing process for me on her side by asking me to provide the necessary info such as the item's product name, date of purchase, price before taxes, etc. I received a printable UPS shipping label in the email, printed it, and returned the item in the mail. Approximately 2 days later, I received an Amazon giftcard code in the email with the dollar amount equal to the item's price before the sales tax. Then I redeemed the giftcard code on the Amazon page and proceeded to apply the giftcard money to my next purchase of a replacement Asus prime motherboard, and it all worked out successfully. Therefore, I had no issues with the protection plan service and recommend it to others.

Fast and easy but I dont trust the process to be fully automated.
The process was very smooth and fairly quick. The only challenge I had was that the CLAIM status showed complete but I had to manually go look up the status. There was no email or notification it was closed. After manually checking the status, I called customer support and they said since I called in, they would process the payout. I wonder if I didnt call in if they would have processed it? Also, the phone rep said they would issue me a amazon egift card but then the next day I received a email saying they mailed out the payout. Very poor communication but so far the process was easy and fast.

They honor their product.
I've been dealing with Asurion for over a decade now. They're my first choice when making a purchase that I know I'm going to have around for a while. Asurion backs its product to the hilt. I purchased a mid-range priced printer about 2 1/2 yrs. ago along with a 3yr. warranty from Asurion to cover any unexpected 'surprises' that might happen to pop up. Fast forward to approximately 3 months ago, when my printer decided that it wanted to start acting up. The print quality was taking a nose dive; colors were beginning to drop out, showing streaks and fading. Clarity and sharpness are virtually gone. I contacted Asurion about the problem. I couldn't have found a nicer rep to deal with. She said not to worry and within minutes had the situation under control. She sent me all the information and pre-paid postage on how to pack and have my unit shipped to their repair facilities. In less than a week my unit was repaired and returned to me. However, this is not the end of the story. Within a few days, my unit was acting up again and doing the same thing it went in for. Again, I got hold of Asurion (Same great service, different girl). We repeated the same process as before, but this time the unit was there about a week longer. When I finally received the unit, I immediately hooked it up and put it through the numbers, testing everything. To be blunt, the print quality was worse than the 1st time it went in for service. After voicing my displeasure (basically having a hissy-fit), I regained my composure and contacted Asurion, again! This time they told me that since their techs were unable to resolve the issue and to not have me waiting any longer than I have already, they're going ahead and refunding the total amount I paid for the unit. Even though it was somewhat of a Pain-in-the-ASS to go through, I couldn't be happier. Within 48 hrs. I had my refund in hand and I turned around and purchased a replacement Printer. Moral to the story, have a contingency plan, Just in case. Check out Asurion: Great customer service - Nice people, very competitive pricing for their products and they honor their word by their actions. Highly recommend Asurion to anyone.
