De Languedoc Roussillon was veertig jaar geleden een twijfelachtig wijngebied. Er kwam veel wijn vandaan; heel veel. Echter was de kwaliteit op zijn vriendelijkst gezegd flink onder de maat. Veel wijnhuizen hebben de laatste decennia hard gewerkt en dit heeft zich uitbetaald. De Languedoc Roussillon staat tegenwoordige bekend om haar prima wijnen met een geweldige prijs-kwaliteit verhouding. Ook deze Chevancy Reserve Chardonnay valt binnen deze categorie.

Een houtgelagerde Chardonnay uit Frankrijk

Chevancy Reserve Chardonnay wordt gemaakt door een coöperatie. Dit betekent dat vele wijnboeren de handen ineen hebben geslagen en samen de meest fenomenale wijnen weten te produceren. Doordat de aanwas van druiven oneindig is, kunnen de wijnmakers enkel alleen de beste trossen Chardonnay druiven gebruiken voor deze witte wijn van Chevancy. Hierdoor wordt de kwaliteit torenhoog en zal de geur en de smaak van Chevancy Reserve Chardonnay je zeker bekoren.

Hoe smaakt Chevancy Reserve Chardonnay

Na de persing en vergisting, krijgt deze Chevancy Reserve Chardonnay haar kenmerkende houtlagering. Deze duurt ongeveer 3 tot 6 maanden afhankelijk van het oogstjaar. Hierdoor krijgt deze Chardonnay wijn wel wat body, maar wordt het geheel geen moment te zwaar. Dit zorgt voor een fantastische geur waarin acacia, abrikozen en perzik goed in te ontdekken is. De smaak is een perfecte combinatie van fruit en hout. Evenwichtig en uitgebalanceerd. De kracht en vettigheid is iconisch. I washed it one time but don’t think it had room to move well in the washer so it didn’t get as clean as I hoped. It could probably be washed better by hand in the bathtub. It dried well in the dryer.

— Just wanted to add an update to say that after I left this review the seller reached out to me to get more feedback and ask how they could make the experience better. I didn’t respond because I was pretty busy. They followed up and informed me that they have issued a refund for my order and that I do not need to send the item back. I appreciate their customer service. — The product is extremely soft. The dogs seem to love it. However, the “donut” part doesn’t hold up at all and the whole bed feels really flimsy. Our dog was on it for a couple mins and when he got up there is an obvious dent from where he was laying. We got a similar bed from Costco a couple months ago for roughly the same price. The bed holds up its shape and feels solid/heavy. We wanted a second one but it was out of stock so we looked on Amazon and found this one. The dark gray one in the photo is from Costco and the light gray one is this product. I probably won’t send it back (too much hassle) but if your dogs are 25lbs+ this bed may not give the support you are looking for.
