Northern Lights - Block Mount

I have been wondering how to create a rendition of the northern lights for more than twenty years. Two summers ago, my son, William, took a beautiful photograph of the northern lights from our home in Hazelton, and that photo renewed my desire to create an image of the northern lights. When the desire is strong and it keeps coming back I’ve learned that the final achievement is close when it comes to creating new images. These past few weeks there has been some awesome displays of the aurora borealis looking north from our home and I have finally sat down and designed this rendition of the northern lights. It’s amazing how I complicate things when the saying, “keep it simple” always seems to apply. I finally created this rendition by keeping it simple. I love how inspiration works and the end result is beyond what I hoped for.
