Meet Las Perlitas — a delicious coffee with a story worth sharing. This vibrant lot is the result of a powerful collaboration with Mujeres de Giraldo, a group of passionate women farmers in the mountains of Antioquia, Colombia. It all started with Yessica Parra, a spirited young sourcing pro with a background in farming and community development, who dreamed of creating more opportunities for women in coffee. With a drive to uplift and empower, Yessica launched this project to give Colombian women the recognition and support they truly deserve in an industry they've long helped sustain.
These women aren’t just behind the scenes — they’re at the heart of every harvest. From planting and picking to managing the day-to-day operations of the farms, they’re the quiet power behind some of the world’s best beans. “Behind every coffee farmer,” Yessica says, “there’s a woman — a wife, sister, or mother—who makes it all possible.” That’s the spirit behind Mujeres de Giraldo: celebrating the hands and hearts that nurture the coffee from seed to cup. The coffee itself features Castillo and Caturra varieties, grown at high altitudes between 1900 and 2200 meters above sea level, and processed using a traditional wet fermentation method that enhances its clean and complex profile.
But Las Perlitas is more than just great coffee — it’s a movement. In Giraldo, a town where mistrust has long strained the relationships between producers and buyers, this project is helping to rebuild confidence and community through cooperation. Every sip is a toast to change, connection, and the women rewriting the future of Colombian coffee. So when you enjoy Las Perlitas, you’re not just tasting something special — you’re becoming part of something bigger.
