Story
I have enjoyed fishing on the Westcoast of British Columbia or most of my life and have had the privilege of fishing in some of our most beautiful spots. I’ve caught all the species of salmon available, as well as Halibut, Lingcod, Red Snapper, Steelhead, Cutthroat, and Rainbow Trout. The experiences have inspired many creations from my studio.
There is one experience I have yet to enjoy, and that is to catch Coho on a fly in the open ocean. When you ask any of the local afishionados, you will hear names like Catface, Whaler, Cutcus, Hippy Point, and many other colorful names. These are a few of the places in Clayoquot Sound where you can enjoy fishing the ocean with a fly.
In the last few years, an increasing number of people have come to the Tofino area specifically to catch wild salmon on a fly; their stories have inspired this work, called FLYFISHING.
