The Ystudio Classic Revolve Red Fountain Pen demonstrates how thoughtful industrial design and carefully chosen materials can transform an everyday writing instrument into an object of enduring character. Finished in a rich matte red lacquer over solid brass, the Revolve Red combines clean geometric lines with subtle warmth and tactile refinement, embodying Ystudio's philosophy that the tools we use daily should become more meaningful through time and use.

Founded in Taiwan, Ystudio has built its reputation by embracing simplicity, craftsmanship, and the beauty of materials that age naturally. The Classic Revolve collection reflects these principles particularly well, pairing minimalist design language with honest construction and a deliberate absence of unnecessary ornamentation. The result is a fountain pen that feels contemporary yet timeless, refined yet approachable.

Craftsmanship & Design

The Classic Revolve Red is crafted from solid brass, a material that has become synonymous with Ystudio's identity. The brass construction provides reassuring substance in hand while offering exceptional durability and a warm tactile quality that differs noticeably from conventional resin writing instruments. The pen's matte red finish introduces a vibrant yet restrained character, allowing the clean lines and hexagonal profile to remain the focal point of the design.

The faceted silhouette serves both aesthetic and practical purposes. The six-sided geometry creates subtle visual interest, prevents the pen from rolling across a desk, and provides a secure and comfortable grip during writing sessions. The minimal branding and understated detailing further reinforce Ystudio's design philosophy, where proportion, material, and craftsmanship are allowed to speak for themselves.

Enthusiasts often appreciate Ystudio pens because they develop character over time. As the lacquer finish gradually acquires signs of use and the brass beneath subtly evolves, the pen becomes increasingly personal to its owner, reflecting the Japanese and Taiwanese appreciation for objects that reveal their history through use and age.

Writing Experience

The Ystudio Classic Revolve Red Fountain Pen is fitted with a smooth stainless steel nib manufactured by Schmidt in Germany. Known for dependable performance and consistent ink flow, the nib delivers a pleasant balance of smoothness and control that makes the pen equally suitable for journaling, correspondence, and everyday note-taking.

The weight of the solid brass body contributes to a stable and reassuring writing experience, allowing the pen to rest naturally in hand without requiring excessive pressure. Filling is accomplished through a standard international cartridge/converter system, providing both convenience and compatibility with a wide range of bottled fountain pen inks.

Brand Heritage

Established in Taiwan in 2012, Ystudio creates writing instruments and lifestyle objects centered around the idea that everyday tools should inspire mindfulness and appreciation for craftsmanship. Rather than pursuing decoration or complexity, the company emphasizes honest materials, precise manufacturing, and designs that invite long-term use and personal connection.

The Classic Revolve collection embodies this philosophy through its solid brass construction, minimalist geometry, and restrained aesthetic language. The Red edition adds warmth and personality to the collection while preserving the thoughtful simplicity that has made Ystudio particularly admired among enthusiasts who appreciate design-driven writing instruments with enduring character.

As Good as the Series
Format: Paperback
Reads more like a novel than the first one. I didn't like the style as much but still an excellent book. If you're going to read the series you won't be disappointed.

A mind bender.
Format: Paperback
Robert Monroe's story is such a remarkable one that for me it took a few years of pondering and re-reading various accounts of his "journeys" to come to grips with it as a legitimate reality. Since the early 1960's, Monroe carefully logged many hundreds or thousands of out of body experiences and over the years mastered exit techniques and went on to teach them to many students at his institute in Virginia. Far Journeys is a wild ride and was at times difficult to follow due to the many terms RM coined to describe the completely unknown entities and experiences that became routine for him. Once you get accustomed to the vocabulary, the narrative becomes more intelligible. The book is really something of a travelogue to non-physical reality. He is not stopping along the way to explain things to us readers, but leaving the experiences to speak for themselves. In the end, one is left to grapple with the implications of all he is laying out. Is he just completely insane? I don't think that is the case. Monroe was, in my view, a true modern mystic, born into a highly academic and rational Western world. He brought all of his pragmatism and mechanistic views on the world to bear as he wrestled with his remarkable gifts. He is really the heir to Edgar Casey, and in turn any number of mystics from antiquity.

Well written, entertaining - whether this stuff is true or not depends on your opinion.
Format: Paperback
I loved Monroe's first book. *This* book is entertaining, although annoying at times trying to figure out who's talking. I'm silent on whether I believe Monroe's fantastic stories. But if you're okay with that risk, I'd recommend this for both entertainment & perhaps to help unleash some creativity in your self.
