This notebook features MD Cotton paper, which is made with 20% cotton pulp. The cotton fibers are longer, thinner, and more absorbent than wood pulp, making this paper faster drying and slightly smoother than standard MD notebook paper—without losing any of its fountain pen friendliness.

It was made in Japan to create a superbly pleasant writing experience. MD paper is rigorously tested to ensure that it is bleed-resistant, feather-resistant, and fountain pen friendly. The notebook has a sturdy thread binding that lies flat when open, making it easy to write. It also comes with a ribbon marker to keep your place. The cover is not a typical notebook cover. To showcase the charm of the paper itself, the cloth tape used to bind the spine, usually hidden by a cover, is exposed, giving the notebook a unique look. You can even see where the ribbon marker is glued in place. The notebook also comes with sticker labels that can be used to label the notebook.

The sizes of MD Notebook Cotton have been optimized for drawing, with the range now featuring F0 size (H180xW140mm), F2 size (H240xW190mm) and an F3 variant (H273x210mm).

Incidentally, the F stands for “figure” – this French standard is based on the golden ratio for portraits and other pictures.
