Eight auspicious symbols are one of the most common decorative symbols in Tibetan culture and usually found in altar, offering accessories and home decor. The eight auspicious symbols of Tibetan Buddhism consist of: parasol, pair of fishes, treasure vase, lotus, white-spiraling conch shell, endless knot, victory banner, and golden wheel.
Avalokiteshvara (Chenrezik or Guanyin) is said to be the essence of the speech of all the buddhas and the incarnation of their compassion. As one of the Eight Great Close Sons, he is usually depicted as white in colour and holding a lotus. He is of special importance to Tibetans, so much so that he is sometimes described as the patron deity of Tibet.
Reciting Om Mani Padme Hung one hundred or one thousand times is of equal merit to reciting the whole of the Kangyur (collection of all teachings of Buddha).
Reciting Om Mani Padme Hung ten thousand times closes the door to rebirth in the lower realms.
Reciting Om Mani Padme Hung one million times one will reach the level of an irreversible bodhisattva.
Reciting Om Mani Padme Hung ten million times one will attain perfect buddhahood.
