This 6-piece Damascus kitchen knife set puts every essential blade in one configuration. Six distinct profiles cover slicing, chopping, vegetable prep, and fine detail work. The largest knife runs 12 inches. The smallest runs 10 inches overall. Every blade is hand-forged from layered Damascus steel and fitted with natural rosewood handles on full tang construction.

The Blades

All six blades are forged from layered 1095 high-carbon steel and 15N20 nickel alloy. The two steels are stacked, heated, and hammer-welded into a single billet. Repeated folding strengthens the grain structure and bonds the layers permanently throughout the steel. Acid etching after forging reveals the Damascus surface pattern — flowing contrast lines that run the full length of each blade. Every knife carries a slightly different pattern from the hand-forging process.

Heat treatment brings each blade to 58–60 HRC. That hardness holds a sharp working edge through daily prep without chipping under regular cutting load.

What Each Knife Does

The 12-inch gyuto chef knife is the primary daily prep blade. It slices proteins, breaks down vegetables, minces herbs, and handles the bulk of general kitchen work during active cooking.

The long slicer is built for carving and portioning. Its narrow blade pulls cleanly through roasts, brisket, and large proteins in single long strokes — less drag, cleaner slice faces, more consistent portions.

The santoku knife excels at clean vegetable work. Its flat edge and wide blade suit push cuts through produce and controlled slicing where precision matters more than speed.

The precision chef knife handles controlled cutting tasks that need a shorter, more deliberate blade than the gyuto. It suits fine julienne work, detail slicing, and tasks where a longer blade creates unnecessary movement.

The utility knife bridges the gap between the larger blades and the paring knife. It trims fat, portions smaller cuts, and manages mid-size prep tasks where larger knives are too cumbersome.

The 10-inch paring knife is the smallest blade in the set. It handles peeling, scoring, trimming around bones, and close-hand detail work that needs a short, controlled blade.

Handle Material

Each knife is fitted with a natural rosewood handle. Rosewood is a dense, tight-grained hardwood that resists moisture absorption during regular kitchen use. The surface holds its finish over years of daily handling and stays secure in hand during wet prep. The grain pattern varies across each handle — no two knives in this set look identical.

Full Tang Construction

Every knife is full tang. The blade steel runs the complete length from tip to handle end, pinned through the rosewood for permanent, solid construction. Full tang eliminates blade flex at the handle junction and distributes weight evenly across the full knife length — essential for control during both heavy slicing and fine detail work.

FAQs

Why does this set include both a gyuto and a santoku knife?

A gyuto and a santoku are not duplicates. The gyuto has a curved belly built for rocking cuts and general-purpose prep across proteins and vegetables. The santoku has a flatter edge designed for push cuts and precise vegetable slicing.

Is rosewood a practical handle material for daily kitchen use?

Yes. Rosewood is naturally dense and moisture-resistant, which keeps it stable under regular washing and kitchen conditions. It does not require frequent oiling and holds its surface finish longer than softer wood species.

Can all six knives be sharpened at home?

Yes. Use a whetstone at 15–20 degrees per side for all blades in this set. Hone with a leather strop between whetstone sessions to keep the edge aligned.

How should this set be stored?

Use a knife roll, wooden block, or magnetic wall strip. Never store the knives loose in a drawer — blade contact with other utensils dulls the edge and risks chipping the Damascus surface pattern on each knife.

soft finish for upper lip and chin area
I pay close attention to fine facial hair, especially around my upper lip and chin area. Under strong lighting, those small hairs can appear more visible, so I have been looking for a gentle way to care for this area without anything harsh or overly complicated. At night, after cleansing my face and completing my basic skincare, I apply this oil as the final step. It feels like a light finishing layer over the skin. I use a very small amount, about one or two drops, warm it between my fingertips, then gently press it onto the upper lip and chin area. There is no stinging sensation, and the scent is very mild, which makes the application feel calm and comfortable. The texture feels lighter than expected. It spreads smoothly and settles quickly without leaving a heavy or greasy film. My skin type leans slightly combination, and in my case it sits well without making the T zone feel overly coated. Even when I follow with a light moisturizer, it layers without pilling and still feels breathable on the skin. After using it regularly every three days in the evening, the change I notice is mainly visual. The fine facial hair looks less pronounced under bright lighting, especially around the upper lip area. The skin surface also appears more even, and when I touch it, it feels smoother and less uneven in texture. These changes feel gradual rather than sudden, becoming more noticeable over time. From a makeup perspective in the morning, my base applies more evenly after cleansing. Foundation tends to sit more smoothly around the chin and upper lip area, without clinging to texture. During humid days, the skin can feel slightly more active in oil balance, but the overall finish still looks even and natural once makeup is applied.

Good for maintaining clean beard lines
I keep my beard trimmed, but I always have to clean up the edges along my neckline to keep it looking neat. Lately, I've been massaging a few drops of this natural oil into my neck on Tuesday mornings right after I finish shaving at the sink. It feels really soothing on freshly shaved skin, kind of acting like a light daily moisturizer. The bottle is only 1.85 ounces, but you only need a tiny dab to cover a small area so it should last a while. Over the last month, the stubble along my collar line definitely feels softer, and it takes an extra day or two before it starts looking messy again. If you trim your own facial hair and want to stretch out the time between touching up your neck or cheek lines, this is handy to keep by the mirror.

Gentle Oil for After Hair Removal Care
I started using this Cyperus oil after shaving because my skin often feels dry afterward. The texture is lightweight and spreads easily, so I only need a small amount on areas like legs and underarms. I usually apply it after showering, when my skin is clean and dry, then massage it in for a few minutes. The oil feels soothing and gives my skin a softer, more moisturized feeling without being too greasy. It absorbs better than I expected, especially when I use a thin layer. The scent is mild and does not bother me during daily use. For unwanted hair care, I know it is not something that shows a big change overnight, so I use it consistently after hair removal. It has been easy to add into my routine, and I like that it helps calm and moisturize my skin after shaving or waxing.

Absorbs into the skin well and no irritation so far
I bought this Cyperus Rotundus oil to try out, and the 1.85 oz bottle is a good size for me. The oil has a light botanical scent that is pleasant and not too strong. I have applied it a few times and found that it is very easy to use with the included dropper. It absorbs into the skin well and I have noticed no irritation at all, which is important for my daily routine. The bottle arrived quickly and was packaged securely so there were no leaks. It is a practical addition to my shelf, and the glass container feels solid. This product does exactly what it says on the label and provides a straightforward way to use a natural oil. It is a functional and simple purchase that meets my needs perfectly.
