The Canon PowerShot G3 X is a fixed-lens camera built around a 1.0-inch CMOS sensor with 20.2 megapixels, paired with the DIGIC 6 image processor. The integrated 24โ600mm equivalent f/2.8โ5.6 zoom lens uses a complex optical construction with ultra-low dispersion elements to maintain resolution and control aberrations across an extended focal range. Optical stabilization is provided by Intelligent IS, adapting correction behavior to shooting conditions.
Autofocus is handled by a contrast-detection AF system with face detection and subject tracking support. Continuous shooting reaches 5.9 fps with continuous AF. Video recording includes Full HD 1080p at up to 60 fps, with clean HDMI output for external monitoring or recording. Manual exposure control is available for both stills and video capture.
The camera features a 3.2-inch tilting LCD with 1.62M dots, optimized for outdoor visibility and flexible framing. Physical controls include a lens-mounted control ring and customizable buttons for direct parameter access. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi and NFC for wireless image transfer and remote operation. Power is supplied by the NB-10L battery, supporting extended shooting sessions.
