The spare wheel at the rear of the VW T5 and T6 is an ingenious construction with high utility value and looks simply good on any van.
With this bracket you can attach your spare wheel correctly to the Hess rear rack with the “rail system”.
This system is designed so that the spare wheel is securely anchored to the vehicle even on bumpy journeys on field and meadow paths.
When using a bicycle rack, we always recommend replacing the standard gas pressure shock absorbers from VW with a reinforcement set. Due to the higher weight of the tailgate, the original dampers can no longer hold it. The variable kit we developed for the VW T5 and T6 solves this problem. We have the right dampers for every load on the tailgate on offer.
