For more than four hundred years in New Mexico, Pueblo Indians and Spaniards have lived "together yet apart." Now the preeminent historian of that region's colonial past offers a fresh, balanced look at the origins of a precarious relationship.

John L. Kessell has written the first narrative history devoted to the tumultuous seventeenth century in New Mexico. Setting aside stereotypes of a Native American Eden and the Black Legend of Spanish cruelty, he paints an evenhanded picture of a tense but interwoven coexistence. Beginning with the first permanent Spanish settlement among the Pueblos of the Rio Grande in 1598, he proposes a set of relations more complicated than previous accounts envisioned and then reinterprets the Pueblo Revolt of 1680 and the Spanish reconquest in the 1690s. Kessell clearly describes the Pueblo world encountered by Spanish conquistador Juan de O ate and portrays important but lesser-known Indian partisans, all while weaving analysis and interpretation into the flow of life in seventeenth-century New Mexico.

Brimming with new insights embedded in an engaging narrative, Kessell's work presents a clearer picture than ever before of events leading to the Pueblo Revolt. Pueblos, Spaniards, and the Kingdom of New Mexico is the definitive account of a volatile era.

Best socks ever
Size: Large, Color: (100) White / White / Mod Gray
Best athletic socks I’ve bought. I usually buy UA socks anyway and these are the best. Super soft and comfy. Fit snug and my feet don’t slide around in them.

Much much better than the standard sock
Size: X-Large, Color: (001) Black / Black / Castlerock
These socks are superb. Lots of padding in the right places, snug where it should be snug & loose where you don't want it to bind. They are marked with an 'L' for left foot, & 'R' for the right foot (it makes a difference in the fit being perfect. They stay up on your heel & don't slide down

4 lefts vs 2 rights
Size: Medium, Color: (001) Black / Black / Castlerock, Size: Medium, Color: (001) Black / Black / Castlerock
I ordered a set of three. I ended up with four left socks and two right socks lol. Granted it doesn’t matter unless you’re OCD. JEEZ. Love the socks but not the attention to detail the sock company did on matching left/right marked socks.

Hold up to tough wear - definitely recommend
Size: X-Large, Color: (001) Black / Black / Castlerock
These are my teens favorite socks. We've ordered multiple sets. Given that he tends to wear then as slippers I am really impressed with how they hold up. The extra large size is great for bigger feet. They wash well and I didn't notice any shrinkage, fading or pilling. This set is going to college with him.
