Typical bacterial issues include open wounds and abrasions, tail rot, cloudy eyes, and mouth fungus. MELAFIX also aids in the regeneration of damaged fins and tissues. This product can be applied when introducing new fish to an aquarium—especially to ease their transition from the store to their new home—and if an infection is suspected, even if it hasn’t been confirmed yet. Some fish purchased from pet stores may already harbor diseases at the time of sale, which can be challenging to identify in the early stages.
API MELAFIX fish treatment is safe for the biological filter, will not change the pH levels, and will not color the water.
- Use 5 ml for every 10 gallons of aquarium water.
- For treating diseases or wounds, administer daily for 7 days. After 7 days, perform a 25% water change.
- Continue the treatment if needed.
- For introducing new fish, administer daily for 3 days.
