Run by Dave Lee, aka Joey Negro, the label has enjoyed success through his unique ability to foster the principles of underground dance music whilst also remaining mindful of commercial appeal. Through various compilations, Lee has consistently delved deep into the heart of a specific genre or era and selecting a lesser-known series of tracks that give a real insight into the spirit and energy that made that point in time special. This time he's been joined by Neil Pierce as co-compiler for this second collection of their favorite moments across a definitive decade for house and garage: the '90s. Vol. 2 includes material from UFO (United Future Organization), and Slam Mode, as well as remixes from Kings Of Tomorrow, Kerri Chandler, Marshall Jefferson, and Smack Productions - the compilation is packed with sultry vocal lines and the sort of slick, irresistible grooves that defined the era. Sticking with the ethos of his series, Dave and Neil have dug out a lot of music that may have until now "slipped under the radar" meaning a lot of the material on this compilation is being digitized for the very first time. In searching deeper and wider than the average compilation, the package provides a thorough insight into why this was such a fertile period for production and gives a nod to the sort of drum patterns, sampling techniques, and vocal lines that have inspired the likes of Bicep, Brawther, and Huxley, amongst many more. Works like it should, easier to use if you keep the dosing funnel on the basket

With a weighted top and storage base, this is sturdy metal with what appear to be standard acupuncture needles. It comes with a set of spare needles in a plastic tube.
I find it much easier to use if I keep my dosing funnel on the basket, followed by a quick clearing of the funnel using a weighted espresso distribution tool with the maximum extension before popping off the funnel for my final tamp. See photo.

Simple tool that makes a difference
Color: Black
This tool really improved my espresso. Itβs easy to use and helps distribute the coffee evenly, which makes the shots come out better. It feels solid and well made. Small but very useful.

It's not bad, but one minor issue FOR ME
Color: Black
There is nothing generally not to dislike about this WDT. Priced right. Good quality materials. But there are two issues that made me choose a different one, even before using this one:
The entire top and bottom are straight cylindrical pieces. Ergonomically I would have to use more, larger muscle movement from my wrist to stir the beans. Not a big deal for some, but with other similar choices at the same price, I thought I would be better off with a different model. The second issue is that then the needles are placed back in the tall "recepticle", the top piece merely sits on top and isn't secured. For some that might be good because the top can be lifted out without any opposing force. OTOH, if it tips over it might expose the needles or need two hands to get it back together. If I didn't have other choices, I'd keep this one. I knew, without even using it that it wasn't for me... but it might be for someone else. Again, the materials are quite good and you can tell by the heft of the item.
I elected to go with a similar concept, but a more contoured design with a knurled top and brushes on the inside of the recepticle to hold the needles and top in place, but also easy to extract for use. My choice over the Tiverain WDT was personal and has nothing to do with the quality of the product.

High quality and looks great

Works well, definitely deep enough. I like the stand- ease of lifting it off its base and then returning it without needing a second hand. Has a modern sleek look and itβs heavy in a good way. Feels like quality build.
