I looked for resources online and in book form, but found the books and blogs either boring or intimidating, and I didn't think they matched the personality of the dance at all. That

I began dancing a few years ago and still vividly remember all of the anxieties that come along with trying to learn about an entirely new community. I didn't understand a lot of the terms, dances, or history, and I was too intimidated to ask the more experienced dancers. I looked for resources online and in book form, but found the books and blogs either boring or intimidating, and I didn't think they matched the personality of the dance at all. That is when the idea for this project began to form.
I want this to not only be an approachable and fun resource for beginners, but also something that dance lovers at any level will enjoy reading through and interacting with. The bright colors, illustrative style, and use of patterns were used intentionally to match the delightfully quirky, unique, and upbeat personality of the dance Lindy Hop. The book covers general information about the dance, history, genres of swing, fashion, music, travel, and more.
