Der Big G 2021 vom Weingut Holden Manz, benannt nach Besitzer Gerard Holden, ist ein intensiver und konzentrierter Rotwein mit rubinrotem Kern. Diese Cuvée ist von einer wahrhaften Fruchtexplosion gekennzeichnet.

Schwarze Johannisbeeren, Maulbeeren und Pflaumen paaren sich mit feinsten Schokoladenaromen. Ein Hauch von Vanille und Zigarrenschachtel, sowie schwarzer Pfeffer und Gewürze mischen sich am Gaumen zu einem herrlichen Wohlklang.

Mit angenehmen Tanninen, sanfter Säure und einem lang anhaltenden Abgang, welcher von dunklen Früchten begleitet wird, überzeugt der Holden Manz Big G auf ganzer Linie und trägt zu Recht das "Big" im Namen.

Zusammensetzung dieser Cuvée:

82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Cabernet Franc

 

Cuvée Wein

Cuvées zählen mitunter zu den teuersten Weinen der Welt. Bordeaux-Weine aus Frankreich oder Premium Weine aus dem Anbaugebiet Rioja, in Spanien, zählen ebenso zu Cuvées. Außerdem sind die besten Champagner der Welt meist Cuvée Champagner, bestehend aus den Rebsorten Pinot Noir, Chardonnay und Pinot Meunier.

Auch in Südafrika werden vor allem durch die historische Verbundenheit zur französischen Weinwelt hervorragende Cuvées hergestellt.

Aber was ist denn eine Cuvée überhaupt?

Grundlegend bedeutet Cuvée, das Mischen eines Weins aus verschiedenen Rebsorten in einem Gärbehälter. Auch das Verschneiden von Trauben, die aus unterschiedlichen Lagen stammen führt dazu, dass ein Wein als Cuvée bezeichnet wird. Es kommen grundsätzlich zwei verschiedene Zeitpunkte in Frage, zu denen unterschiedliche Lagen und Rebsorten verschnitten werden können.

Einige Winzer vermischen die Trauben bereits beim Keltern. Dies hat zur Folge, dass die vermischten Trauben gemeinsam im Gärbehälter gären. Vom nachträglichen Verschneiden wird allerdings häufiger Gebrauch gemacht. Hier werden bereits vergorene Weine miteinander verschnitten, um während der Lagerung gemeinsam zu reifen.

Passt zu

Der Big G 2021 vom Weingut Holden Manz passt hervorragend zu gegrilltem Sirloin-Steak, serviert mit einer leicht scharfen BBQ-Sauce.

Außerdem lässt sich dieser intensive aber fruchtige Rotwein exzellent zu Schokolade und verschiedenen Käsesorten genießen.
